Default Comical Warhammer 40k!

Now, a couple of days ago me and a few friends were discussing comical names for the races of 40k. I want to see a few that you can come up with! =]
Not nessicarly names, but descriptions, model names, or even PEOPLE you've met in the shop!
I'll give you a crappy example my friend came up with, 'Eldar are just Elves in Spandex, pretending to be Superman'.
Get posting! =]

well, back in the day (15 years ago or so) i used to pronounce genestealers as general stealers (emperor knows why!)

there was once a guy in my local indie who was called cornelious nicodemus papadopolous (i swear on all my models!)

oh man we have a whole bunch. Like my friend would pronounce Chimera with the CH sounding like in (Ch)imney chimney

Man its sort of hard to explain when you type it, but I hope you get the point.

this may not be as funny, but my brother seems to get a laugh out of mixing the tau with the protoss...and pronouncing terran as "terrain"

The starcraft thing reminds me about the wierd sounding protoss language. Zealots would say "Cheese house!" and Archons would say "My pants itch." In 40k my friends have a few "colorful" expressions for a few armies and I'll spare you those.
Good ones, let me see...We have a goblin named "Gubbinz Crocket" complete with song which is pretty much at the peak of loserdome.
I mentioned in another post that Sly Marbo is "bear cub eater"
I imagine I'm not alone in knowing people not by name but by army "Blue Paladins Guy", "that White Consuls Guy" "Tom and his sidekick John" (you'll never see a man more crest fallen than when you tell him he is someone elses sidekick)
If you wanna talk about mispronounced name don't need to go any ****her than Tzeentch or Tizeentch or Zzentch or Zintch it took my group months when we were kids to come to an agreement. There is the Archaon Archon thing and countless others. I ussually don't get too worked up about it because they are not real words so there is no way to pronounce correctly. Not like you can look up Slaanesh in the OED.

Not sure about the archoans... but your right, zealots do sound like they say cheese house (technically its jee house!).

As for Tzeentch, I gave up trying to pronounce its right... right now I'm pronoucing it the way I do so, even if it is totally wrong (Terzec).

Heh, some starcraft fans, good =]
But if you click units a number of times, the same unit, USUALLY they will say something funny anyway. Eg, Archon: Burn Baby Burn ;_;

When we used to pronounce Tyranids as 'Tea-ran-ids'. No one told us it was 'Ty-ran-ids' until we went to GW....

I love the mispronuciations that often come up though, I once heard some posh person, who walked in say, "I've heard you have the Emporar modele!" And that is literally how he said it. I swear the staff were stifling laughs....
Meh, the complete opposite has happened aswell. 3 of the Chavvic Scum (No offence to any NICE chavs) walked in, and one of them instantly said "What the F***! This is games f****ng workshop! Where are the f****ng games!" Shows how idiotic some people are, don't it?

Not sure if this is what you meant, but it always cracks my opponent up.

I haven't written any fluff for my guard yet. So, right now for names I tend to just name them after whatever equipment they have or what action they're performing. Here are some examples :

Sergeant Whitehair (he has white hair)
Private Chuck (he's chucking a grenade)
Commissar Gun (he has a gun...)
Commissar Swordfist (he has a sword and a power fist)
Sergeant Old (he has gray hair)
Sergeant Point (he has an arm from the HWT sprue that is pointing)
Colonel Crouch (he's crouching)
General D***fist (it just sounded funny)
Private Shoot (he's shooting his lasgun)

That's what I can remember. I also name my Dawn of War color schemes wierd stuff. I have a Tau scheme called "Tauriffic". Always seems to get a laugh.

with us its not so much the game thats funny its the players reactions.
For example we keep this one guy around mainly cause of his comic relief...he paints his armies terribly, is at least 50 points over on every list he makes, and has no idea what the rules are despite playing for like 15 years or so!
For example he has a Blood Angels force, yet he plays them so out of character...for example he has yet to ever initiate close combat fighting! No lie; he constantly stays in the back and snipes at enemies, and then in a very non marine fashion, when he knows he will lose, he retreats off the board...keep in mind this happens every time! Whats extra funny is in his mind its some cosmic coincidence everytime he loses, not so much any action of his own. We make it a requirement in our group that everyone gets the experience of playing him once at least.
