I know the type. I used to play with a guy who always had a smart remark for me and my friends. We don't play with him anymore. I suggest you get one or two good pals, and schedule a weekend to play. If all your friends are pricks, make new ones!

Maybe I should let all you know that I play way more than 40k, this also includes various board games, RPG's, other miniature war games and lots of others!

And DK, I have tried to get them to stop, it doesnt change anything and guys, I consider myself to be a strong person, but after 6-7 years of this kind of punishment, it gets to be too much.....

So Gent is a friend Wordbearers? Then you should just battle with him, and you two find some more people interested in the hobby who respect other players. I myself do not trash talk, I play to have fun, not to bicker with some jerks. My friends are the same way. I don't mind a little heckling thrown my way, as long as it's good natured. Personal remarks should not be tolerated. I respect other people, and I expect the same treatment. If not, they might get a nasty left hook to the jaw!

Then you don't need to game with them. Noone deserves to be mistreated, especially when your trying to have fun. I say tell these people to take a hike. You should not be ashamed to call it quits with them, Gent. I would have not tolerated this behavior for that long, I would have pummeled them. Give me 5 bucks and I'll make the trip to personally crack some heads! Seriously, they are the ones who are losing out here, because you seem like a swell guy. it's true though. nobody says you need to stay with them, or hang out with them. who wants to do stuff that they don't like ?/makes them feel sad ?

all in all dude, just play with people you enjoy hanging out with. and if it gets to be too much, i say just crank up the tunes, get out an old 40k project you never got around to finishing, and work on that for a while, it gets the stress and sadness out for me :]

That gives me an ideal! If (and it's a big, big if) you decide to keep playing with these morons, get yourself an MP3 player, download some rocking tunes, and drown out their mindless drivel. Then again, I say screw em, if they wanna be jerks, let em play with someone else. Don't stress to much over these guys, they aren't worth it.

I have a wednesday night and thursday night group that I greatly enjoy gaming with. We play blood bowl and an assortment of RPG's. It is just my friday night group and my 40k group that are this way.

It was rough in the early days as a gal playing; lot of guys wanted nothing to do with a woman playing a man's game, so to speak. The insults were vicious and continuous and often very personal. Fortunately my self=worth was and is not dependent on what other people think of me or my ideas, or what they say. And most of this nonsense I got in person, not on the net.

I simply flipped 'em off and found people who didn't mind. No one is going to make me give up something I enjoy simply by being childish. I'm a stubborn lass.

Easier for people to be childish on the net as it lends a sort of anonymity.

Ignore them, that's my advice. Enjoy the game.

i'd pull them aside, verbally give them a work-over, and if that doesn't work, talk to the store manager about banning them, and if that doesn't work, take them outside and punch them till they stop.
