Bile's New Man army

hmmm, its more of a notion than an actual plan, but I wondered how one would represent a traitor guard army composed almost entirely of Fabius Bile's genhanced new men....

aren't bile's new men basically human, but capable of the upper limits of human physical limitations? As opposed to the enhanced monster marines?

ive always wanted to make a new man army.

and afaik they are altered chaos marines, though he is (to my knowlegde) the only man who can make marines outside of the AdMech and loyal Chapters, which must make him a very rich renegade

well according to the new codex:

I reckon this little piece hints at enhancements beyond your basic CSM.

Yes.. But if you read any of the fluff detailing his experiments, all of his enhancements rely upon using SM implants and organs, implanted into SM, to enhance them further. Never, ever mentions him making something from a human stock, though it does mention haemonucui(sp?) made entirely from labs, almost like bio-servitors, grown with only one use but deficient in all others.

true enough, bearing in mind that the old fluff was probably assuming he onl experimented on Space marines to see how they tick. I am saying that this hints at why he wanted to figure it out, and that he might have applied what he learned to create less conspicuous, but all too effective warriors that would be loyal to him alone. And I think that we can take advantage of this hint...

odd...i got the impression from the 2nd ed dex that he traded his skills to rebel planetary governors, enhancing much thier pfd in return for slaves or genetic material. now i'm sure a pdf force isn't compsed mainly of marines.

his rules have never allowed the enhancements to be applied to anything other than marines though so meh.

why would they seeing as he was never played in anything other than a marine army?

well in the 2nd ed dex there was an apendix that allowed you to take cultist troops so it would have been possible to have bile in a normalish human force.

i was sure he could empower humans, like you said for instance making governators's bodyguards uberstrong. would make for a cool comamnd squad.

tbh i always wondered about the validity of the army. sicne rhino rushing isnt as good as it was before, my previous ida of having every single unit in the army upgraded wont work so well anymore.

any ideas how this could work?

i think i agree with ides i always thought the new men wher near human with the stregnth and abilities to rival that of a space marine. they wher to be the new inbatitance of the galaxy after the imprium is destroyed.

I've seen it as more of a Hitman type thing. They aren't inhuman, or near human, just capable of easily achieving the upper limit of every people can do, be it speed, strength or stamina (explaining how one man could, say, leap six feet over a balconey, grab the rail and not break both hands, or take six shots to the chest and keep going until he finds medical assistance.)

I would have thought this should have been the imperium's aim all along, as you can breed these monsters, you can't really breed marines...
