| yes you can take them as allies but you will need an inquisitor i believe and there are restrictions to the IST's in the DH and WH codex cheap effective models IMO use dual plasma and mount them in a chimera

| i am sure that you are already aware of this but just to point out that =][= storm troopers can neither infiltrate nor deep strike like their IG counterparts. if you are Chimera mounting them anyway, then it doesn't matter, but if you wanted them to deepstrike/infiltrate, there isn't any point using the =][= versions. |

| What is this chimera nonsesnse... considering the role of a IG stormtrooper squad in a Space marine army... the rhino is much better! A rhino gets a unit into place, then serves a mobile cover. A chimera is a mobile firebase. IG stormtroopers don't need to be that mobile... once in place, they form a nice fire base (2 plasma ftw!) and then get murdered by AP4 weaponry. Just like scouts, minus the plasma... oh, and they are cheaper.

| ok think again a chimera inst too expensive and let you fire lots of shots on the move and unload 2x plasma its a very nice addition. i use to play DH and use 3-4 of these squads very nice fire base and objective holder

a space marine army doesn't need the extra heavy bolters... those 80'ish pts are much better spent on other upgrades such as a land speeder tornado or outfitting a few devastators. what the inquisition storm troopers do for a space marine force is give them 10 more bodies for dirt cheap! 100pts + weapongrades is a true bargin for the marines who's cheapest troop - the scout - is still more expensive than the storm trooper! if the troopers want mobility, then a rhino is better as it is cheaper, which is the whole point of the unit; cheap reinforcements who are also easily sacrifical! cheers!
