Elysians' or Death Korps? One or the Other!

Which one of these two regiments' are better? whether it be because the way they look or there background fluff or because you think one is more badass! than the other (who would you least like to meet in a dark ally)
Which army looks the best painted up to a high standard?

I've voted DKK as the elysian models are cool, but im just loveing the armour and the grenediers for the DKK (i hope to lay my hands some grenadiers in the future, for an as yet secret undisclosed project) dont even get me started about the commissars (yep, and one of thsoe too ^^ ) so DKK.

but dont get me wrong, elysians are kick ass too. i'm just bias. ^^

I feel that the Elysians are better only because you can be more flexible in making their army. There is not a set rules set for them and that leaves a lot of options for interpretation and that allows you some high customizability for the army. DKK models are much cooler in my opinion, but I am liking the elysians much more!

personally i love the elysian aircraft/grave-chute approach, but i really just hate their models, with the weird goggles and things.

DKoK and elysians, it's hard to choose for me because i respect both of them greatly, but i have to go with DKoK for the poll because the models they have are wicked, the fluff is wicked, the army set up/style is wicked..what's not to love ? haha

Well I think you could've guessed what I'd say...

Death Korps are the best simply b/c they have the coolest models ever produced by FW (IMHO). While the Elysians are very cool as well it all boils down to 1 thing: Helmets. The Korps have way way cooler helmets than the Drop Troops. They also happen to be cheaper than Elysians believe it or not. Fluff wise, I'd have to contest the veiw put forward by Gent and simply site my army. The Siege list is only one way to interperate the Death Korps but I can just as easily picture a Armored Division or city fighting army.
The Elysians do have really cool weapons however and to be honest when the Death Korps first came out I hated thier lasguns but they grow on you, especially with the attachable bayonet.

And Rom, what happens if the Korps comes up right underneath you rather than from above??

@ BvL: The reason for this poll is to see if the Death Korps are as popular as I thought,
As you all know there spreading the Siege of Vraks out over what will end up being 3 Imperial Armour books! I'm worried that the Death Korps will become watered down in bad fluff just because they sell well and become the whopping boys for the shiny new World Eaters and then Nurgle armies! I'm just trying to see if I can look into the Elysians'
I do love WW1 history and Death Korps but I'm afraid it's just gonna get ruined like every thing else when it becomes to popular! on the upside Elysians' in my poll here and on Warseer don't seem to be lacking in Fanboys' so maybe there is hope .

Ahh I see. Well I'm praying the Korps doesnt take that path. Eylsians are cool though, but like I said Death Korps are cooler.

And as far as popularity goes I think you can judge from the horrendous backup FW has been having since they started making them. Although not the entire cause I'm sure its a big part of it.

I vote Death Korps. Who cares what their rules are with models that cool!
Their fluff, combined with the ungodly awesome models, in my opinion makes them the obvious choice.

the tzeentchian outlook;

- the elysians IMHO are the better force rules-wise in the sense that it's something compleatly different and off-the-wall so to speak. any guard player can make a 'combined arms' infantry/tank force work! only a truely great command can make a bunch of loonies who throw themselves out of low flying planes work!
the elysians offer the vastly different gaming experience and will no doubt send your opponent into a conumdrum as they attepmt in vain to understand the idea of 'guard' + 'no tanks?!?' but 'guard??!?'

- however, the death korps easily have the better looking models by far! hands down, the only real thing the elysians have that looks cool are those drop sentinels...

so there you go, i can pick both forces as best and yet still claim one is in fact better than the other in the same answer! (ah, blessed are those who share tzeentch's infinate wisdom!)
