| Corporal ![]() | Librarians are usually in blue armor, chaplins in black. Does this overide chapter colours? For example Deathwing is ussually in Bleached Bone armor, should they be in Blue, even if they're Deathwing? Should Dark Angels Chaplins in power armour be green, or black. The website shows green... I think it may be a mistake...

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | I think because the Deathwing are different in color from the rest of the DA for a symbolic reason, the bone white overrides the traditional librarian/chaplain/techmarine colors.

An honorguard or retinue termie could have (depending on chapter or player in question) a gold helmet. The list goes on, depending on how hardlined you are on fluff. But, for a general rule, anything but a Chaplains armor is secondary to chapter colors, but you must somehow include the blue for a librarian, or the red for a tech marine, etc... Hope that was clear! | |

| Conscript ![]() | I agree with Erus and anyway if u were collecting a pure Deathwing army, fluff-speaking a chaplin would be attached to the Deathwing so would likely bear a 'normal' chaplin. Therefore his shoulder pad or w/e would be green, but if u wanted to portray him as a member of the inner-circle i.e an interogater chaplin then i suspose you could have him with a deathwing-coloured shoulder pad.

| the age of reptiles ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hmm...well i suppose it depends on the chapter. as for deathwing, it probably wouldn't override the bleached bone color...for DIY chapters, and probably some normal GW sponsored chapters it would still be up to the player. personally, i think having a shoulderpad/ both shoulderpads painted in the associated color would be enough :] all in opinion though ! :] -ant

| Conscript ![]() | theres always been a problem with DW and specialists, form way back in 2nd edition, many people used to complain that the gW ones were painted the wrong way. the question is does the codex astartes override something in a non-codex chapter? i think it shouldnt, i mean, the dark angels arent a strict codex chapter so i think if members of their 1st company all have bone armour, then they all have bone armour. the specialist rank could be designated on a shoulderpad, knwwpad, banner or something like that of course this is just my opinion. i just think they loo kcooler with bone armour and dark blue/black/green robes |

Blog Entries: 1 | Yes but Chaplains and Tech-Marines have their loyalties divided between their chapter and the ad-mech/cult of the emperor...its not just the codex astartes that prompts them to have different colors

| I'm not sure about being a purist about the codex patterns, but there has been a trend lately towards using the chapter colors on your specialists and i have to say that i like it. Chapter color apothecaries are really nice looking in my eyes so thats what I do. Then I have the shoulder pads in the specialist color.

| Conscript ![]() | take Dark Angels for instance. they were always painted with the specialist colours. i think nowadays its just a matter of opinion, but lots of purists and old skool gamers will paint them in the specialist colours just cuz thats how it was done in the good ole days ![]() |
