| I'm not an expert when it comes to airbrushes, so take this for what its worth. First off, I never use the standard paints I use for painting with my standard brushes. A few people suggested watering the paints down and adding dish detergent. I have tried and it never worked for me. I have 2 air brushes (and they are old) I have a Badger single action, which is good for big jobs. Such as base coating mainly. I used this one on a Tau job I once did for somebody. ![]() ![]() Did all of those with an airbrush. It beats buying cans of paint or spending hours brushing the base coat on. Final Product --> ![]() Then I have a Double Action airbrush (Paacshe) which gives better control when it comes to flow of paint and laydown. You can do anything from pencil thin to thick broadlines a bit easier than with a single action airbrush. I use this for camo work or anything which requires a soft blending of color. Here are a couple of examples: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All the pics above were done using GW and Vallejo paints (thinned down of course). My problem is they always seem to clog the nossle. Which then requires cleaning (I hate cleaning!!) There are other brands of airbrush out there (Aztek), and pretty cheap. There are some which do not have a needle and clean really easy. They are also inexpensive. Here is a link which you may find helpful The airbrush - which one to get and how to use it Hope I was of some help. |

| ex Chaplain Shadow ![]() | I was looking at some airbrush pics, and for some reason this just clicked right at this moment. A while back I bought a used air compressor, it is a Cambell Hausfeld. With it came some toys, tire pressure gage etc... and this what I thought was just a simple air house, but now I think it might be an airbrush. I am not to familiar with air brushes, so if this is an airbrush how do I use it for GW paints? http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/HPIM2743.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/HPIM2744.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/HPIM2745.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/HPIM2746.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...7/HPIM2747.jpg |

| Grandpa Nurgle ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It almost looks like a sprayer head for chemicles and such or a old paint sprayer head.Thats the only things ican think you would need a airhose hookup for.

| My guess is that it is for pressure washing I used a much larger version when I worked Maitence for a company in La Crosse WI. The larger wand that I used could take gum off a side walk or paint off a car. SO MUCH POWER!!!! (insert evil laugh here) (caugh) sorry bout that, I had lots of fun with that presure washer. Any way... Those are some really nice Airbrushed models Live. Keep up the good work, Servo |

| Thanks liveevil2000 for the airbrush link. Just the thing I need as a beginner when it comes to 'airbrush'. Question: I imagine airbrushing your tanks to be very effective. You need less time and with some training achieve acceptable results. Can someone who uses airbrush already confirm this? |

| you are right on target. I have used air brushes on larger models with great results. With a little practice you can get some great effects. I have seen some outstanding designs (which I dont have the skill to do myself). I have found an airbrush to give enough control to give you anything from a pencil thin line to a full blown area covering coat. All the while it lays down ultra smooth and thin coats to boot. In my opinion, airbrushing vehicles is the easiest way to get the job done.
