what and you painted to goledn daemon standards and were a master tactician when you started out? i highly doubt that. if people acted how you seem to want, you would naver had started playing 40k. people would have snubbed you cuz your models were crap (they were crap - everyones ,models are crap when they start out!)

not all beginners are annoying brats. i for one was not, and id bet that most veterans started out with mentality of professional gamers. the brats that no one likes are the people who will be long gone when we are still playing the game (Assuming its still aound by then... )

And they're kids, so most of the time the staff doesn't do much about it.

(note this doesn't happen TOO often, but i've seen it happen plenty times, but mostly in the battle bunker in my area and the RT's. And yes I do realise my perception is completely dependent on chance, i.e. who i happen to play or see playing)

And ANYWAY back to topic

ONLY the Codex SM armoury is getting "deleted" anyway. It is being "simplified" and combined with the army list so that certain choices for certain types of units or characters are no longer available.

according to GW, SM are VERY strict in organisation and choice of equipment, but the current armoury style allows too much "unfluffy" choices for certain units and squad leaders, so for fluff purposes they are simplifying the armoury.

well ta-da
they aren't killing the game
and they aren't aiming for kids
w00t
Oh don't even start with the cheating. I am one of those people who read the rulebook front to cover before they start which is what I did. Then in the battle that the store was running I charged my bloodclaws into his scouts only a few could reach and then he goes and tells me that if all of them cant reach it doesnt count. Now being new I jsut accepted it but what do I find out they can charge as long as they are 2 inches away from each other.

i dunno what its like in other palcs but here in malta people cheat all the time.

they bring up rules from old editions of the codex which have been dropped and because the judges are usually morons, they accept it.

then the really bad power players (iron warriors and eldar star cannon of det harmies, at least in the past) come up with rules any player who know his 40k knows dont exist. he then goes on to look though the rulebook, page by page, positive the rule is in there.

hes wasting time ,stalling, so we call a judge over who, in a bid to save time says we roll for it, even though such a rule doesnt exist.

this was prevalent during the odd days of trial asault and trial vehicle rules when all sorts of variants were flying around

its things like this that put me of playing against people i dont know who dont have an ounce of common sense in their bodies.

so much for making new user-friendly codices and ruleboks

Most of what you say is true. I have heard the rumors too, and noticed the changes that are being made slowly but surely.

Last time I went to the GW store I heard that they are talking about condensing the entire Inquisition into one codex which takes away their uniquities(made up word I know).

that wont necessarily be a bad thing.

the Inquisition is one organisation (so to speak) and it makes sense having it all in one book.

half the stuff in the daemon and witch hunter books are exactly the same anyway so itll save having to reprint them

and maybe that way, sisters will get their own book as they deservedly should (i was never a fan of them being the chamber militant of the ordo hereticus. damn fluff changes)

and if the new chaos codex is anything to go by, a unified =][= book neednt be a small one either.

Plus it doesn't take away their "uniquities".

think of it this way: it's a novel omnibus, except for a codex, and a few of the units are universal and so do not get repeated (like assassins, inquisitorial storm troopers, rhinos and chimaeras, to name a few)

but other than that it's basically putting 3-in-1 for purposes of not producing separate codecies and having to make separate covers.

This like D_C said will allow for SoB armies, and hopefully will bring in Ordo Xenos / Deathwatch too.

(speaking of which, why didnt they omnibus CSM/Daemonica/Other Chaos?)
