GW not making money?

Ok I cant confirm nor deny this rumor.

However there was always this rumor going around that Gamesworkshop has not made any money since the end of the Eye of Terror Campaign.

Since I am only 10 minutes away from the Gamesworkshop Midwest Headquarters money rumors always seems to stick around.

Another is that their stock is so low that they are planning on selling it all together.


Have anyone else in the past heard these rumors too or not? I mean I can be completely wrong, but I doubt it.

nope, plus if the had not been making money they would have not released VC, cause they wouldn't have money to pay the modelers

unless they lower prices they won't get a large gross income, since in the past when they had lower prices the stuff sort of flew off the shelves, so mabe if they do that again it would help

I mean be smart about pricing

their codexes for example, make it 3 times the size and it will be worth the price. that much paper can't cost that much

They seem to be stuck in the vicious cycle of- losing money so they increase prices to keep their profit margins the same which in turn puts people off buying their stuff, so they have to prices yet again to cover those who've left the hobby.....its not a pretty pictture

yeaa...and it's not like they're bound very well anyways o.O

honestly, i think a price drop would be in order...just like when the U.S. Fed lowers interest rates by increasing the physical money in circulation to stimulate the economy

Why so cheap though? The more people have the happier they are. Sooooo iguess put some more troop ss in a box, put more variants and guns, put some troops in a tank box, and make the books bigger

Put coupons in black library books. Somethign, they don't seem to try to get business very hard

that's part of the reason their prices can stay high, lol cause they know their addict gamers will always buy from them. [alas...]

i can't read the report do to user policies at work what's the jest of it.

i only looked over the first dozen or so pages
it basically says they are hemoraging money

i bet they could cut down on alot of over head if they closed alot of the official stores
and pushed the independant retailers
then they could drop the prices and i could go back to buying new models instead of refurbishing my old ones and ebay purchases

Seems to me like they've become too far out of touch with the average gamer. They've been making changes and decisions that should in theory work better for the company, but really start driving people away. Raising costs, changing models, and a whole slew of other things that have been unpopular in the gaming community certainly haven't helped them in their plight.

changing models isn't so bad since they don't stipulate that you have to use the new models only. and the prices could be better, but in honesty they aren't that bad if you look at alot of the collector games from wizards of the coast or wizkid. they could still be cheaper, i would still buy 100 dollars worth i would just get more for the price.
