Default My Chicago Gamesday Model

Okay I have been wanting to do a model for the Chi-town gamesday for a while.
Just to let you know I probably dont have the skills to win.... My goal is just to make first cut simple enough, and I think I can do it. I will post the finished model when Im done.

Anyways if you guys have ANY advice PLEASE post it! I could probably use it!

Also help me pick a model.

only advice i can offer is to take your time painting your entry. make sure that the colours are bold and well defined with good shading and highlighting, and plenty of contrast. and clean lines above all!

how about posting some examples of your work so we can give more helpful suggestions?

I would only suggest that you paint what you think would best show your painting skills. Something that you can add plenty of details to. Good luck!

I have gone for SL Command squad. If you choose this, it will allow you to get loads of character into the models. It will allow you to make a unique set that could potentially make it really stand out from the rest...

Also, heed the wisdom of hairyyahoo, he speaks the truth.

Yea thanks for the advice, and you are right Hairyahoo.

Though tactically my suicide command squads are 1 JO and 4 Plasma gunners. I was thinking to go with a more variety.

1 JO (with a bit of conversion)
1 Vox caster
1 plasma gunner
1 srgt
1 medic or lasgunner or standard bearer?

keep in mind they dont make models for a medic or vox caster so I think converting these models would add flair to my entry.

Yea like I said thanks for the advice.

I hope to post up the plasma gunner and finish him first. Its one of the easier models to do, and it is a way to really see a part of the entry.
Also all my model are has desert coats (afrika crops anyone?) but with this entry I may do black coats.

If you have tank
do one of each
except choose only one of the tanks

multiple categories is good if you have time
if you have time enough only to paint one, go with what Templar said

Default Go with the squad!

I agree with the squad idea. I think you could really make an impression like that and smaller models will be better to paint IMHO. as you tire of one move to another and so on. I look forward to your pics......

none of the above -

the DKoK commander (the one with the really cool roman style helmet)

or the new macharius vanquisher - pure beauty
