Blog Entries: 5   |  NEED SOME HELP Ok, so my Wife will be out of town all of next week and i have comitted to running an event. as there is no Authorized GW shop within 100 miles, GW (the first ever beneficial thing i've ever seen them do) has donated to me and this event: dubbed "Week Of Warhammer (40k)", 4 Paint Sets, 4 Squad Boxed Sets (40k) and 8 Blisters (40k) Preliminary plans: Teach a painting class hold a small painting Comp (winner gets a paint set, other sets will be used for the painting) Teach how to play 40k Combat Patrol Tourney (winner gets a boxed Set) (2nd and 3rd get a blister) WHAT TO DO WITH THE REST????? it leaves 3 Boxed Sets (squads) and 6 blisters HELP PLEASE!

| Have a "best painted" and "Best Tactician" and give some prizes (blisters). And also have a raffle for something (Boxes) to encourage participants to stick around for the day..... Just my $.02.

| Can you use some of the boxed sets and paint sets to help with the painting? For example, you could use two of the boxed sets and a few painting sets for everyones use. Everyone gets to paint a miniature. Then you could use the other stuff as prizes. Wait, that seems like what you've already said.

| add-on some additional 'soft scores' awards to the tourny; sportmanship & 'player's choice' awards... too many tournies are over-looking the more important aspects of the hobby as a whole - especially good sportsmanship! i'd even make the sportsmanship award the biggest one, simply to help encourage more balanced patrols & good spirited play! (ie: sportsmanship = 1 box & 1 blister!) also, you could do a terrain competition. this is easily the most overlooked aspect of the hobby, but it's one of the most fun! cheers!
