| ex Chaplain Shadow ![]() | Pretty soon I will be getting our shed redone, make it easier for me/coworkers to find stuff before we go out for the day. We are also have a desk area put in there so we can write stuff down on, for some paper work etc... I was thinking if I had enough room I could paint on this table, handpaint/airbrush. My question is when it gets hot in the summer (I LOVE THE SUMMER) does this have real effect on the paint? Probably dries it up quick if I am hand painting but what about airbrushing? |

Blog Entries: 1 | as you say dries your paint quicker. You have to wash your brushes out a lot more regularly and I would mix paints in smaller amounts as it will go dry and lumpy quicker, thats all, enjoy your outdoor shed painting, sounds cool! |

| On the flip side, warm/dry conditions are IDEAL for airbrushing =P. No moisture in the air to mess with your paint.

| Where are you located? It seems that everyone has a different idea of summer painting. In Florida, where I live, the humidity is normally so high that I don't have a real problem painting outdoors. Sometimes, I have a problem with slower drying times, because the humidity is so high, but for most part, summer is best. Just keep thinning your paint. As far as airbrushing goes, even with higher humidity, I like summer because the paint dries faster on the model (but I airbrush mostly enamels, so they dry more slowly than acrylics anyway).

| Yeah, you get good moist heat. Keep your water pot full, for brush-painting. Watch your airbrushing the first couple of times, and see how your paint comes out. Practice on a piece of cardboard first. If it seems a little stringy, then you'll need to add a little more thinner. Acrylic paint is hard to judge for airbrushing, until you actuaaly do it, so you'll have to make your own call. If the paint comes out spotty or stringy, then your paint is too thick. If it takes more than a couple of coats to cover, then your paint is too thin. You will have to judge for yourself. Different paints (GW, Vallejo, Reaper, Apple Barrel, Testor's) all spray differently.
