Blog Entries: 1  |  PDF forces i am thinking. after the TOXG, i will have 1k of daemons. the next TOXG will probably (for me at least) be a giant mass of pdf troopers. this will be apoc size (actually really huge) all of them will be regualar infanrty platoons and 1 command platoon for each 300 soldiers (obviously this will hake awhile) what do you guys think, could a PDF force be represented by the guard? even though the guard armylist is company sized?

| Re: PDF forces Yeah. Just use some stuff different from a normal regiment. You could use autoguns instead of lasguns, Quad Launchers instead of Basilisks, a Malcador here in there etc. PDF are basically second rate Imperial Guardsmen on babysitting duty, and don't always get the best equipment.

| Re: PDF forces My PDF are Brettonians and Empire troops from WHFB. Check my history of Valdenheim why but thats what I use. I figure PDF can be just about anything that assists the Guard in controlling planets. Give them conscript stats and you should be good to go. BvL

| Re: PDF forces I thought so, but I was just making sure that I wasn't going to make a fool of myself by assuming it was something else. I mean we all know what happens when you assume things it makes an a.... well you know the rest. Yeah I think an Apoc size PDF force would be sweet. I think that if you don't want to convert that many models lasguns would be fine. In the Fluff las-weaponery seems to be fairly abundant so I don't see a problem with that. For other bells and wistles I don't think I would use any techology other than projectile weapons. Granade Launchers, Heavy Bolters, Auto-cannons (personally I love these things and the models are sweet), etc. etc. I wouldn't take any power weapons or refactor fields. Maybe a few priests. I could see PDF's using these to get their defense forces riled up when defending against untold odds in nasty seige senarios. Just my two cents, Servo |

Really anything is a possibility...I imagine places like Cadia, Armageddon, and Medusa have experienced and well equipped PDF's. While worlds like Quintarn would have 2nd rate soldiers who haven't seen a day of real combat in their lives.
