Plasma guns - 40K Terra

Whats the rate of fire for the plasma gun?Is it like a Doom plasma gun?

Well TT wise they have a similar rate of fire to bolters and lasguns, but I believe thats because those weapons are being depicted as not (on average) firing at full auto.

Fluff wise it has varied from novel to novel but I think it averages out at a sort of single shot/semi-auto variation. Maybe 1 shot every couple of seconds.

Just my opinion though as theres no hard and fast representation on offer.

right. even if it was a fairly fast-firing gun, iwould imagine some hesitation to shoot it too quickly anyways [unless your skin is blue and you tote around a watery plasmagun :P] because of its nasty tendency to cook things other than your enemies..lol
