the only purpose built one would be the ork brute ram ship in BFG
but as far as main stream 40k i cant recall any ever
a special unit ofr house rule would be awesome
kind of like the old catachan dex the guy with the demo charge
instead of him throwing it he runs that distance and is the bomb

Or could be a crazy IG rough rider counts as. Rider speeds to the lines and "ghost rides" the bike laden with demo and then its a "hunting lance"

NP buddy!!
A hunting lance is carried by a rough rider and is the stick you see them modeled with. it is automatic used in 1st CC a model gets in and is a +2 INIT and STR when charging weapon that IGNORES armor saves

Whoa, pretty nasty stuff. Suicide snipers is a nice ideal too, like the Japanese who would strap themselves into coconut trees. Stupid printer wont work, or I'd print off a few datasheets. My wife's nephew is a cpu whiz, he's coming to fix it sometime next week, so I'll get on some then. Why does technology hate me so?

Deep striking sentinals usually work for me. Drop them close to an enemy unit and unload on it, then charge it if you survive into the next turn.
Don't the Tau have a last ditch bomb as wargear now?

Yeah, but FW ain't legal in most tournies. At least the ones I've been in. Elysian Drop Troops will be left at the door.

Droptroops doctrine applies to sentinals and Guard Infantry. IT's a tourney legal way of thumping your opponent with sentinals, demo charge carrying special weapons squads, and plasma armed vet squads.

This gives a whole new outlook to my oft-beaten desert-styled IG, who have never taken Doctrines. Maybe I should read the whole Codex.

Manned torpedos would be pretty cool I think. Actually, I'd like to see more naval units of all types in 40k.
