Eventhough early on they (romans) used a LOT of greek names they changed them quite fast, Helios turning into Apolo, Gaia into Terra, Artemis into Athena, Zeus into Jupiter and so on and so forth. Honestly, safe for Zeus, i prefer the Roman names PS The one and only, solar apolo:  Nope, it`s not taken from a christian church, i promise :P But still, they had SOL(is) for sun and Apolo for sun god.
