| i heard 2-3 years time. the models atm are awful imo, really outdated, tbh i wouldnt mind playing them if they got re-vamped because i sorta like the fluff behind them...

| IIRC... due to the Codex: Daemons and Codex: Space Marines Redux, De have been pushed back from late 2008(??) to early 09 or mid 09...

| the prblem withthe dark eldar is they needed to be started over from scratch... so that means going back and creating the whole 'bible' for them, ie; - who they are - what they're about - why they do what they do - influences & character flaws - how they act/look upon the other races plus, as mentioned the model range is getting a total and compleat overhaul which again takes time! depending on some other factors going on in the studio at the moment, the dark eldar migh just get a slight push forwards - or we could see space wolves instead! still, by early - mid '09 we should be seeing the new dark eldar hitting the shelves at last! all-in-all, the dark eldar are about a 4 - 5 year project! cheers!

| Dark Eldar....... REALLY?!! Besides the *****in hot slave girlies they sport around these guys are utterly useless! If you pander in longeared and winded nonsencicality *pretty sure its not a word... although the eldar excel in that aspect* the regular *unleaded* Eldar should be enough for anyone!

| right..i've heard of DE winning on turn one...i don't think any army can even dream of boasting that ! so honestly i don't think they're useless at all...just ugly cause of their super outdated models and book.

| dark eldar are STILL the BEST army in the game. no question about it. if you take a genius dark eldar player against a genius player of any other race, the dark eldar will win. in the'ardboyz tournament, the best players around. there were three dark eldar players (typical) and two were in the top 15 (again, typical) theyre models suck. yes. theyre rules are old. yes. but they are still an awesome army. |

| to give you all an idea of just how dirty & filthy the dark eldar can be, check out this 'chick'; - wych archite w/wych weapons, punisher, tormentor helm, shadow field, drugs, xenospasm, animus vitae & plasma & haywire grenades. cost; 186 pts so that's a model that will always strike first in combat, can easily deal with tanks & has an ap3 template which also causes pinning tests. plus, she's WS6 which goes to WS7 after she captures her first slave! oh, and she hits at I8 too with upto 7 S5 power toy attacks. (and that goes upto S6 after that first invigorating slave is taken!  )as for defensive abilities, she has a 2+ invulnerable save and once that's gone, she still has a 4+ invulnerable save in combat... oh, and before i forget, she halves the WS of anything with S5 or less... so yes, most things need 5's to even hit her!!!  so, any takers?!! cheers!

| aw man, thats sweet. i think my first army was DE, ofc, being young and naive i cared little for them aftr a few defeats, but that was me thinking all wrong on how to use them. i for one am dissappointed that theyre not gonna be done again for a few years. although, i may start them up again in the new year bcuz i still like tghem, despite the outdated models. maybe some conversions would help...cut off some of them annoying ears...lol

| Ah right, "there is a whych hq choie? not in my book." Its in the HQ as "dark eldar Wych Lord". Its a Wych Lord and the special rules also gives it the "wych weapons". Also of note about your pimped out character Stitch; The Punisher and Tormentor Helm are worn by Dark Eldar Incubi; so im guessing the Wych Lord cant take them. (Or can they? :S ) @ Braindelted; my codex is "second edition". which is the latest one out is it not? unfortuneatly

| yep, we have the 2nd edition, (aka re-print), that includes all the updates from the offical chapter approved article from early 2003! take your old 'original' printings down to your local GW store; they should replace it with the new updated version for you for free! (and if they don't then just tell them they're not showing you that "outrageous customer service" we're famous for!) Biadetic: there's no restrictions regarding who can take which weapons! (okay, that pun wasn't intended but i'll run with it! )so yes, it's fully legal to give 'incubi' equipment to anyone who has armoury acesses! cheers!
