White Dwarf renewal time? or ditching time?

So my most recent subscription to White Dwarf here in the UK ended with the January issue (337UK, 336US). My big quandary now is should I renew a subscription for a frankly far poorer magazine than it used to be just for the sake of completeness.
These days there's generally 1 good article in an issue, Standard Bearer is usually interesting as well.
The website pieces are becoming better and are providing all the things that used to be in the old style WD's that everyone misses.

I'm one of those people who will get something just to complete the set tho, so I have a natural compulsion to fork out the £60 for another 2-year subscription. The alternative to which is paying £36 for a 1-year sub. And at £4 an issue these days, this makes both subs reasonably good deals, even if the old subscriber deliver date of 1 week before it appears in GW stores has rather gone out the window this past year.

this is a bit of a depressing rant really isn't it?

So, back to the point, what are peoples thoughts? Should i bother with another subscription? or just let WD pass me by for a while?

I like white dwarf for the most part. I just dont like how they always have the featured army beat up on anything it faces. The pics are always pretty cool and alot of the hobby stuff I find pretty useful. I'm facing the same problem though my subscription is up in Feb.

I love white dwarf but I only pick up a few issues every year so I could go ether way.

I have been buying WD since issue #100,i have seen it good and bad but kept buying only missing about 20 issues between.Over all i think its a great mag.Besides aint there a 1/2 of subscription renewal right know.I regret letting mine go for a while now i am having a hell of a time finding those issues.

I've never even looked inside an issue of White Dwarf before, but I've seen them sitting on the store shelves.

So, I have this advice: if you feel it's not up to your standards, discontinue the subscription. They'll take note of the fewer subscribers and eventually try to get you back by offering the same content you once enjoyed. It'll take a little while, but it'll happen eventually.

Ditch it. When I remember, I do a review of each issue. If I find one particularly good issue I'll tell everyone to buy it and save 'em some money the rest of the year.

The problem with WD is that there isnt any room for it now. When I used to get it people didnt have the internet so WD was the best way to see sneek peaks and new rules and mini's, thats when the mag was exciting.

Now we hear about rumours so far in advance and pics by the time WD gets to us there is nothing new in it that we dont already know. (even the battle report out come! - that's there fault though!)

The most recent useful WD was the BA dex. They should do more of that kind of thing.

So no I wouldnt bother, I pick up the odd one but thats it.

I have to agree with Mart...I used to buy every issue...now it's just not worth it...I pick up one or two just to have a hard copy of something interesting but beyond that I find it to be a waste of money

I don't buy WD much at all anymore either.
I'll buy one if its:
A special issue of some type.
An article I'm really looking forward to.
Cool content / releases / etc.
Pretty pictures.

Frankly it's become a giant catalogue and they don't even do that many good showcases of models anymore.
Oh and no Specialist Games content = sux0r

Yeah...
No specialist games content in them, and GW wonders why these great games are failing.
I know 6 year vets who never even heard of BFG or Necro (it sickens me).

I remember seeing an ancient WD.
I was amazed at the stuff in it. Background and converting tips like you wouldn't believe.

I missed this months issue but I'm seriously thinking it might have been for the best.

I find the no specialist games stuff to be an extreme bummer.
I love staring at Warlord Titans or Emperor battleships and reading through Dark Elf Blood Bowl tactica just as much as I enjoy stuff for the "Big 3" games.

I look at WD nowadays.
Sure there's cool graphics and backgrounds and stuff.
BUT IT FEELS SO EMPTY!
The only good thing I remember from the issues near-during-and-after apoc's release was the massive battle report.
And that was only novel for... well... not long

So, if GW ever reads this: "Content" does not mean "filler".
"Content" means stuff that is cool, useful, and people like to read.
DO NOT DO "HOW TO ASSEMBLE [INSERT NEW KIT NAME HERE]"!
God even the hobby articles are sales ads in disguise.

The older WD's are the way they should have stayed.But for me its a collectors thing,I have Older citadel journals also.But thats why i buy them,And besides i just renewed my sub for half price 2years 60 bucks.
