The Inquistion II: Zen's band

OOC: Here we go.

The planet was doomed. It was doomed the minute that Zen stepped aboard his ship. He gave the order, and his ship began bombardment.

Although small, the Ordo Herticus ship was equipped with a cannon big enough to provide limited orbital bombardment, as well as being equipped with virus shells.

For three hours the bombardment went on. Several of the survivors of the planet wept openly, all the people on the ship knew that innocents would die, but, Lord Zen's order was law.

When the bombardment was over Zen gave the order to activate the warp engines and begin traveling towards Cyin's former base of operations, the planet Xelon V.

OOC: Introduce yourself, and then we can get this party started

Cold. He just felt so..cold. Outside he could hear the bombardment of the planet. He knew this would come. Trying to pull himself to his feet was impossible. This was it. He was gonna die out here. Erendul, respected Corporal of the Imperial army, abandoned and killed by his own kin.
As he thought this he also thought 'No, i won't die like this' Mustering all the strength he could, he lifted himself onto his feet. He reached the door and decided against running out into the large blasts.

He staggered into the old hanger turned battlefield, and saw, luckily, one small ship still remained. Enough to get him away from the planet at least. So he clambered inside, activated it, and left. No sooner had he put the auto pilot on, than he was out cold again.

Meanwhile, on the ship still in orbit, commencing the bombardment, a transmission went out to Lord Zen's ship. "Sir, a small ship has just left the planet, however it disapeared from scanners."

Akuzio looked on at the bombardment with carfully hidden disgust. though he knew it was their duty, there was not enough justification to eradicate the planet. he noticed his men of the Cadian 62nd start to also gather around him. "To your duties! Seargent, get these men in line!" he barked.
though they had already completed most of the drills of the day, he did not want his men to see the true horror of the planets atmosphere exploding into flame, destroying all life on the surface.

Stilheim watched the bombardment with awe and fear. The emperor's wrath was indeed awe inspiring, but the sheer amount of ferocity would cow anybody present.
He found himself wondering if all this was truly necessary, but berated himself for doubting the word of an inquisitor, as it was infested with filthy heretics that needed to be purged, and those not guilty will surely go to the emperor's side.
Turning on his heels, he went off to his quaters to pray.

Watching from the observation deck as the Inquisitor's ship opened fire on the planet below Mikail turned away, sickened, as the first shells entered the atmosphere. His fragile hope that Erendul had somehow survived shattered by the bombardment unleashed.

'Never again will I place my trust in another, from now my duty is to Zen and through him the Emperor- I could not be there for the master but I will not fail the apprentice' thought the mercenary despairingly.
Taking his position alongside the Inquisitor as the final virus bomb left the ship's cannons and saturated the planet below with it monstorous payload- following it on its muderous path fled the last of Mikail's humanity, all that was left was duty with no place for mercy or honour.

OOC: This is already lookin' good.

Zen had noticed the ship, but thought nothing of it. It was a small, one manned ship without a war engine. As the bombing continued he grew bored watching the shell fly towards the planet and left for his room.

Along the way he heard the sounds of people talking, talking against him about what he had just done. He ignored them all, none of them knew why he did this, it was not simply because the planet was already lost to chaos but other reasons as well. The nearest Imperial System that had the neccesary tools and people to begin the process of mustering a crusade was 3 months away. By the time he had sent an atropathic message, gotten an answer, and had troops ready and sent, it could be months, then of course they had to get here! That meant at least a year, much to long.

As so he had given the order for exterinatus. Yes, it was cruel, many innocents would die, but, the chances of the cultists taking over the planet were amazingly high. The PDF and the Arbites were mostly wiped out, and the cultists numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

Zen arrived in his room, shut the door and went to sleep.

OOC: Good intros... continue building up the scene, Eredul needs to find some way to follow us before we engage our warp engines.

Stilheim found himself to be disgusted by the crew's disapproval of the viral bombing, their lack of faith put a sour taste in his mouth. He walked as quickly as he could to the mess hall and loudly preached to those assembled, "You doubt the word of the lord inqusitor, for shame, he is the emperor's representative, his word and and hand. To even approach this is dangerously close to heresy, trust in his words and actions and you may yet get to the emperor's side!"

He haughtily turned around and headed to a viewing port, to see the dead planet before the ship entered the warp.

"S**t!" Shouted Erendul. He had awoken to find that he had just strayed into a nearby Asteroid Field. "Not good!"
He quickly grabbed the controls and dodged a few of them, wincing at the sound of each one scraping on the hull.
He carried on doing this for sometime, losing track of his postion, until eventually he had managed to manouvere himself out of the field, and straight into the path of the Inquisitor's ship.
"Tch." He muttered, and began to fly straight towards it, pulling up just at the right time to attach his ship to the outer hull.
"Now hours of boredom." He murmered, and within 10 minutes he was unconcious again.

Akuzio stared at the ceiling in his quarters, lost in thought. there was a knock at the door; "enter,"
in walked one of his seargents, Cooper. "sir, one of my men said he thought he saw a small ship pass by a viewport, quite close to the ship. it may have attached. perhaps we should warn someone."
"thank you Cooper, ill take care of it" as he walked towards the bridge, he realized that it must be the ship he had seen earlier fleeing the planet! he reached Zens quarters and knocked on the door.
Zen opened the door and answered "yes? what is it."
"sir, one of my men saw a one man ship pass very close to ours. it probrobly attached to ours. i belive it may have fled the planet. if we enter warp with it still attached, whoever is inside will die. a ship that small obviously has no warp sheilding. what shall we do?"

A sickening crunch signalled the end of the fight as the man’s fist crushed his opponent’s nose.
Mikail was in a non-descript troop hold aboard Zen’s ship surrounded by two score Cadians, participating in the secret fight rings that plagued Imperial Ships when ever Guardsmen were being transported for any length of time.

Mikail had decided that to insure that he was useful to Zen, it would be important to remain in the best condition possible whilst at the same time weed out the Inquisitor’s soldiers who weren’t skilled enough to be more than an encumbrance.
The mercenary spat on his opponent in contempt at the man’s whimpering as he attempted to stifle the fountain of blood from his nose. Instantly the jeering and hoots were silenced as a trio of soldiers stepped in front of Mikail, preventing him from passing.

“Hey Altonian, you cost me and my buddies a lot of money and we ain…” started the lead Imperial. Not bothering to listen the mercenary simply snapped his boot squarely into the Cadian’s chest throwing him to the floor, leaving him struggling to breathe.
“I don’t care. All you Cadians are the same…arrogant scum. Only one of you was a decent warrior and even he wasn’t good enough in the end” retorted Mikail in an emotionless voice as he stalked across the chamber.

The soldiers of the Cadian 62nd didn’t appreciate the upstart Altonian’s comments and surrounded their antagonist once more.
“You merc bastard!” bellowed an overly muscled sergeant as he clamped a meaty hand on Mikail’s shoulder.
Like a thunderbolt the scarred veteran grabbed the sergeant’s hand spinning and twisting just enough to snap his wrist. With a howl the man fell to his knees, as his adversary stepped behind him grabbed his head in a vice-like grip and- as if it was as natural as taking a breath- broke his neck with a dry crack…

OOC: yeah, Mikail's a bit sociopathic now

Erendul awoke and quickly looked at his scanners. They were growing nearer to the Inquisitorial Headquarters. What he'd do there, he had no clue. He knew his ship was about to be ripped apart if he wasn't taken inside. He had taken a great risk attaching it, but he flew infront of the viewport. SOMEONE must have seen him. He sure hoped so..

Stilheim went to the nearest chapel to talk to the confessors, seeing if they encountered anybody complaining of wavering faith. As he came in, a lowly, scrawny naval officer was confessing that he thought the bombardment was wrong, that zen probably should've used a less drastic measure.

Suddenly red faced, Stilheim strode towards the guy and said, "did i hear you correctly, you think zen was wrong?". Before he could reply, stilheim punched him in the stomach and kneed him in the face, "You better not let me hear anything like that again, or i'll send you to the emperor's side before you can say golden throne!"

As the officer crawled out painfully, stilheim stepped on the guy's back as he angrily stormed out.

OOC: all this doubt circulating is peeving off poor ole stilheim

OOC: This is all very nice...

Zen listed to Akuzio and then, "why are you bothering me with this?" Simply smash the ship off! I don't care how, just do it! Once the ships gone, we can enter warp."

OOC: Okay, that was really short, sorry, but, one can only do so much on a small (relatively small I should say) Inquisitorial ship... post on, one more round should see us in warp.

"DAMN!" Shouted Erendul, as he realised he was being shaken off. "For f**k sake!" He swerved his ship off the edge of the Inquisitor's ship, and turned to head towards the hanger. To his luck, he saw that it was open, and he flew inside. When he got in he unclipped the door and jumped out. A few of the men looked at him in shock, however one or two raised their weapons at him.
"Don't be stupid men, or the Emporer's wrath shall destroy you, taking it's form in me!" He shouted, and they lowered their weapons and backed off. "Where is Inquisitor Zen?"
"Uhm.. he should be up on the Bridge.. but i doubt he'll be happy to see you." One of the soldiers replied.
"Noone seems to be at all...." He turned towards the hanger door, but as he did so a voice said to him "I'm sorry sir, but we're gonna have to take you to the brigg for assaulting an Inquisitorial Ship."
"So be it.." Replied Erendul, and he pulled out his bolt pistol and shot the soldier who spoke in the chest, sending him flying across the hanger. "Let that be a lesson to anyone here who argues!" Two of the other men raised their weapons, and began to fire, Erendul however dodged the shots, pulled out his power sword and struck the two soldiers down in one swing.

OOC: One of you's gotta come down to the hanger to see what's going on

Akuzio was making his way toward the hanger. he had sent a vox to two of his guardsmen posted alongside the naval crewmembers down there. his loyal troops had seen to it that the hanger was left open for a short while to enable the one-seater that was attached to make its way inside.
as he walked, he encountered one of his men running towards him from the direction of the hanger.
"what the hell is it?" he asked
out of breath, the guardsmen replied "the man flew in, just as you thought he would. however, it seems as though he already knows the Lord Inquisitor!" he continued breifing Akuzio as they ran toward the hanger.

as they neared, the man burst through the hangers double doors with his sword drawn, blood on it and his tattered guardsmen uniform.
"what is the meaning of this man! stand down!"
instead of a reply, the man snarled and swung at him. Akuzio dodged, but the other guardsmen was not so swift. he was cut across his chest and fell, screaming. Akuzio swiftly drew his sword and parried the mans counterstroke. he felled his adversary with a quick rabbit punch to the nose.
holding his sword to the mans neck, he viscously kicked away the mans fallen power sword and said "ive a mind to kill you were you lay. i am the one responsible for getting you inside this dam ship, now by the emporer calm yourself. crewmen who had all the right to hold you were cut down unprovoked. you yourself killed three i hear, and now maybe four," referring to his soldier who was desperatly tieing a feild bandage around the gash in his chest. "the only reason i let you live now is because you know of Zen, and i wish to know why that is. he now has all the right to kill me just because i let you in here, and the disturbances you've caused. what is your name, and will you cooperate?"
"Erendul," he replied bitterly "and yes damnit."
"good. now get your weapon and help me get him into the infirmary. then i will get you an escort to see Zen."

For a split-second, the soldiers just stared at Mikail and their former comrade before, with a collective roar of hatred, they threw themselves at him.
Ducking the first punch the seasoned mercenary struck the Cadian in the throat with his elbow leaving him with a crushed windpipe writhing on the floor.

Launching himself forward towards the narrow corridor connecting the Hold to the rest of Zen’s ship, the Altonian shoulder barged one soldier out of his way before grabbing the leg of another as the man attempted to swing his boot into Mikail’s ribs.
Using the man’s momentum the crazed former hive ganger spun him into a crowd of soldiers reaching for Zen’s henchman and with a, horrifically powerful, boot applied to the man in front’s groin was free of the majority of his pursuers.
Reaching the corridor ahead of the horde behind him, the mercenary holstered the pistol he’d left hidden in the eaves of the doorway, turning Mikail began to walk slowly backwards as the Guardsmen paused at the sight of the pistol.

“You boys best see to your friend on the floor before he chokes to death” Mikail calmly instructed, waving the gun which had flashed into his hand unnoticed.
With each slight gesticulation the soldiers flinched expecting to be shot at any moment.

“Now im gonna join the Inquisitor and find out whats going on with those warning klaxon” another gesture to the ship’s speaker, another flinch from his ‘audience’.

Firing a couple of shots into the ceiling of the passageway Mikail received the expected- the guardsmen scattered back into the hold to find some cover away from the gunfire. Ensuring that they were all back in, the Altonian sprinted down corridor after passageway, the sounds of outrage from behind spurring him onwards towards the Inquisitor….

OOC: Erendul’s back…will Mikail be happy to see him? Well there both pretty much in the same psychological state i.e bastards

Stilheim heard the klaxons and overheard that a crazy man had just broken into the ship, so he went off to investigate. He was about to reach the hanger when he nearly ran into a gruff guardsmen and, amazingly enough, erendul carrying a grievously wounded soldier. Before even thinking it, he knew where they were headed, so he decided to follow them and see what happens next.

OOC: Nothing much to add, but he'll be there for the fireworks at least.

Ignatius awoke to the sound of the klaxons, "...great, now what?" he thought to himself momentarily...just then he saw two figures enter his infirmary...he quickly recognized the stern face of the Sargent Akuzio...but he didn't recognize the second man...Akuzio barked some incoherent orders to him...oh right my job...the wounded man...Ignatius motioned with a sigh to one of the tables sitting in the room...gave the man a quick examination...
"Sarge...there's no point he is to far gone to return to service even if I save his life."

"**** you am I!" Screamed Erendul, unable to calm himself after being attacked by his own men. He felt betrayed.. and angry. He attempted to draw Ignatius closer, but failed. So instead he turned his head to Akuzio, desperatley trying to calm himself, he said "Erendul, Captain of the now dead Stormtrooper unit who were sent to the... planet. And i ain't going to ****ing die!" He said this last part to Ignatius "I've got through worse!"
At this, one of his only remaining loyal men said to Akuzio and Ignatius, "He isn't lying. I've seen Corporal Erendul with a head wound bleeding to death, but he's still alive. Not to mention he got through the bombardment."
"May the Emporer bless you trooper.." Thanked Erendul, who was promptly told to shut up so that Ignatius could do his work.

OOC: Hehe Baron, Mikail and Erendul Psyco's! And yeh Cag, Zen's not gonna be happy to see me =]

OOC: captain akuzio. just gettin that out there. hes in charge of the cadian 62nd, the unit inducted by zen.

Akuzio watched Ignatius pack up his instruments and grimace. "sorry sir, this man was too far gone."
"i understand. thank you for your help. Captain Erundal. i realise that things have gotten off to a bad start between us. i hope that we could make amends. for now, i must go check up on my unit. come with me, then we may seek out the Lord Inquisitor. im sure nothing serious could have happened since ive been gone, it should not take long."
with that, he presented Erundal with his power sword. as they walked out, he took a lingering glance once more at his dead soldier.
