| Okay, here we go... I'm gonna type up some basic rules here... I'll add more as they are needed. Regarding OOC (out of character): I know some people are really strict about OOC and not using it unless totally necessary. However, I think this is stupid. If you don't want to use OOC, then by all means, don't. However, if you are leaving a thread, joining a thread, or having real world problems, don't give some cryptic in character message and dissapear, simply, at the top of your post (or bottom, or both), type OOC: Sorry guys, I have to leave this thread, bye. Or whatever, that way we don't feel get weird. Also, as a Mod, I can edit, delete, and merge posts(I think...) this means, I'll punish God-Rpers with my mod powers... if someone is God-rping (eg, acting like a super-hero and not a normal person), then PM me (or Erus, preferably both) and we'll fix the problem! Warn him, leave negative feedback (at least I will) and then edit the post, saying that we have done so and so and now this is so and so. Finally, certain races/factions, simply because they are to uber compared to most normal people are not going to be used in standard RPs. These guys are Space Marines of all sorts (including Scout Marines) and Custodes. Also, I think Tyranids shouldn't be used, as they don't really think, they just do things. However, I'm nice, so I'll say this, Space Marines CAN be used in some RPs, like if we do a space hulk RP, why not have some Terminators walking around killing baddies... talk about fun! But, no marines in post threads, if I find them, unless they author of the thread (and thus the leader of the Rp, though not the GM, thats the mods, I think, I'll talk about that) has said you can use them, the post will be edited/deleted, the author warned and negative feedback given. Period. And of course, there are some factions/races that are harder to use, Orks, Inquistors, some Eldar, and even the Ad. Mech possibly. These guys are what I'd call "limited", five Inquisitors running around in one story is dumb. So, if they're are inquisitors, let's keep them to a miminium, the same for the other races, unless its an all Eldar Rp, or an all Tau Rp. Any problems with this and tell me, by PM or in this thread. On combat: I’m not sure how this will work, but let me explain it then, and then I’ll show you the problems. Let’s say, we have five guys, all Imperial Guardsmen in a Cadian Regiment, the 90th. They’re all on patrol in an ork infested area, looking for baddies. They find some, but unluckily, they’re outnumbered, twenty orks armed with a combination of choppas shootas, and sluggas, plus some ‘eavy weapons against 5 IG armed with lasguns and a sergeant armed with a bolt pistol and chainsword. So the fight begins, the sergeant starts the battle by shooting his bolt gun into two of the orks, killing them, and then charging at some more, slashing and hacking with his chainsword. 18 orks left. Then some more guys start fighting… one kills, one ork, another kills 3 (a bit much, but it rarely happens) and two more kill 2 each. Then the final guys kills 5 (due to him picking up an ‘eavy shoota and firing it kill a madman). Now, while this, in real life could happen, IG don’t use xenos weapons, they are told not to use them, and also, Ork weapons tend to be without bullets! Only orks can use them. The RP leader contacts me, and I deal with the problem. Now, since this guy is new, and doesn’t know a lot about ork weapons, I edit his post, and explain it to him, not giving negative feedback, but simply a warning. However, when he does it again, I do leave negative feedback, finally, when he refuses to play nicely, he is ejected from the Rp. What do you guys think of these rules?

| A note on language: Hey, I've noticed that you guys have a tendency to have your characters swear a bit, and so, I've finally gotten around to giving you a lesson on cursing in the 40th millennium: First off... the following words (as far as I know) are not used in BL (black library, the company that publishes 40k and WFB books), they are: **** **** OMG and its various variants A perhaps other "local" swearwords as well However, other words have taken their place: Emperor and Throne have taken the place of Jesus Christ and God Frak and Feth are generally used instead of **** And Son of a Grox can be used for SOB. Just thought I'd let you guys know...

| Bastards okay... as far as I know... though I think BL doesn't like the word simply because of their audience (12 and up).

Blog Entries: 1 | It does mean that. SM [Especially CSM] are God-like characters, and it wouldn't be a fair RP to have them

| Why would they be? All forms of Space Marines, unless otherwise specified, are not allowed. IE unless the Game master specifically says you can use space marines, all forms of space marines are forbidden, ESPCIALLY the more powerful ones like Company Captains, Chapter Masters, Librarians, Chaplains, and the like are forbidden. If not already clear, this rule is in place because compared to most "normal" characters space marines just pwn.

Blog Entries: 5 | No Xenos are yet allowed, except in my RP, but Orks are pretty pointless to play as, even for warbosses, they are on the whole mindless.

Blog Entries: 5 | No, as they're too mindless and brute like for my purposes. Though, by all means, if you want to GM your own RP w/ orks in it, feel free to. YOu'll just need to send a premise to me an MoW, in detail, and we'll see if it can meet approval.

Blog Entries: 4 | Oh, I dunno, GM'ed properly, Orks and CSM can make decent enemies (to run from more than anything else) and playing against them forces players to either think on their feet or die quickly.

| you know i never thought of it that way but that sounds like it should be like that, i mean rp is supossed to be difficult to do... for example, i saw my friend do some rping program where its command sencitive, i thought it was cool but its not my style *being its middle age style or somthing like that* so over all space marines should be a no go, but chaos and/or orks should be a great threat in this situation, and it would be up to you guys to think it out and give us a reply. |

| I can imagine even your basic Chaos Space Marine would be an excellent last 'boss' (you know what I mean). But on the whole the Adeptus Astartes and those characters that are of similar 'God' level shouldn't be used as a PC or NPC |

Blog Entries: 4 | Not directly, but let's say that an rp starts on a planet under attack by the forces of chaos, and you have the PCs fighting their way through cultists to reach safety/escape, but the catch is that they can't tarry anywhere because CSM are assaulting, so you have them running through bolter-fire or even (shock! horror!) sneaking past to avoid getting bogged down by a combat. Its an extreme example, I know, but it can work if all players put the work in.

| I have no problem with you doing whatever you want for your RP of your won devising. The Point of the NO SM rule was that space marines are to most normal people, gods, it was just there so that first time GMs don't end up having a God do everything for the normal PCs. If you want your RP to include super-powerful NPCs or PCs then that is, of course, your decision. I will say that SM, CSM, Orks and such do have their uses and places in RPGs, but in all the Rps I've run, I haven't had to deal with them as NPCs and certainly not PCs. The wonderful thing about RPGs is that you can do ANYTHING. The rules here are guidelines I wrote a LONG time ago (two years? 18 months?) and were for a specific type of RPing. In fact, looking back at, they really should be considered more of guidelines to how a diceless, more freeform, RP should be played. Anyways... hopefully that answered your questions.
