| Ok, as it seems we have enough people interested, now is the time for deciding... Do we want to establish a long running campaign based around a set story line, or something else. A trait I always strive to have when being a GM/DM is to intervene only to keep the story straight, so this is really your guys call. I'll toss out some startin points though: 1. What faction(s) would be: A. feasible, B. fun, and C. be appealing to most? 2. What enemy faction(s) would follow the same ABC's from above 3. What era do we want this set in (Pre/Post/During HEresy, Unity Wars on Terra, what?) 4. If playing a set faction, do we make up our own regiment/variation, or follow a set one (I find making one is easier most often). 5. What sector of space/planet is this on? There we go guys. Look forward to hearing your responses, and having a game running soon! |

| how do you peeps think the uber type of characters should be handled, like space marines or their chaos counter parts. i'd think that they could fill some special roles, but as player characters, i dunno... most races could be used, as they seem to mostly have your "common man" types in them, just my thoughts at the moment, more later en taro adun mon-keigh |

| Greetings all, Even though I am still new to this board I would love to throw my hat into the ring and I will attempt to get the rest of my Gaming Crew from LaCrosse in on this as well. As for what I think would be a cool campaign? I have not seen a good campaign run with bugs being the main antagonists as of yet so that would be interesting. This would also be a good way of getting most races involved sense bugs eat just about anyone with out discrimination. What do you guys think? Sir Servo PS: for those astute enough to realize that my home town is in MN and I claim to be from LaCrosse, I live in Winona witch is 30 mins away from LaCrosse and the closest gaming store for me to game at. |

| Bugs could be done. Space Marines will be NPC only, and even then it is likely only as an advancement hook. Although it would be a rather nasty surprise for the new party to have to punch their way outta a fight with a Khornate Berserker as the cou-de-grace for a campaign. |

| how would farseers be handled, as they would probably fall under the same category of marines or am i wrong about that? not that i'd play that angle, but it popped in my head now.

| If eldar were to be involved somehow, I would say Faressers would be along Marine lines, definitely. Now say, a Warlock (tenuous and would need a damned good reason) could POSSIBLY worm its way in, but that'd be a rare and not likely to happen situation. Just like space marine scouts. |

| Okay, first off, I wanna say this. Though I LOVE the idea of a big RP campaign, I like the idea of smaller, invidiual RPs more. As in, we'd have a few central "hub" threads (like tavern sorta places). A space station sorta thing where we could have everyone meet to chat and stuff. A second thread for char sheets, to keep everyone organized. And then of course, a the rp threads themselves. However, if this idea is rejected, then lets move on towards the Campaign... First off, how about something basic... IG v Orks or 'nids would do great. We could throw in the other races/groups (Inquistion, Ad. Mech., eldar, ect).

| At the risk of sounding like a Noob what excatally are we playing at here. I though this was a Naritive campaign for every one to participate in and record resaults to determine what exactally happens. If it is not a way of playing more games of 40k or at least giving purpose to the games that you are already playing then exactally what is every one planing on doing. Some one help out a Noob, Sir Servo |

Think of it like having a bunch of people writing a badly planned, action focused, story set in 40k.

| How about something like this for char. sheets Name Race/Faction (if your human, are you IG, Iquistion, Ad. Mech, what?) Gender Equipment (weapons, armor, wargear, ect) Apperance History (a short or long bio) Anything else you wanna add? As for combat... I'll get to that soon.

As for combat. Here we go. I've always texted RPed (not Pen and Paper, like DnD) that during a fight seen, the indivual authors type out the battle from their chars point of view. So, if I'm an IG, I shoot an ork and kill him. We're fighting a mob of 20 orks. And so there are now 19. Then the next guy, a Commissar, kills five. The GM says thats to uber (super, or whatever) for a commissar, and he reduces it to 3, 16 left. Ect.

| all races/factions, except perhaps Custodes, Space Marines, and Tryanids can be used in almost every RP. If you wanna start an RP, I'll get one together over the weekend. Right now, I'm gonna right up an offical rules Thread.
