|  Desert Raiders Another good Imperial Guard read, this time focusing on Tallarn troops. This book was the third single shot IG book I've read, and I really enjoyed it. It did start off a bit slow but once things got going they didn't stop. I recommend the book to both fans and enemys of the Guard, Especially Tyranids fans. The next BL book I'm reading is Lord of the Night.

Blog Entries: 1  | Re: Desert Raiders I was at a bookstore on Monday, and was deciding between this book and Rebel Winter. I chose Rebel Winter (which I thought was amazing!), but I think I'll get either this or Deathworld next.

Sure we could see the ending a mile off, and they could have gone into a bit more depth regarding the caves (i.e. why were they there? was it because of a 'nid scout force arriving - Tyranids increase the growth of vegitation on a world, was this the reason?) the characters however were well written and the relationships between the two tribes was clearly explained. the only issue i had with the plot was that as far as i was aware, the Tallerns are not known for their Psykers - certainly going from their Doctrines, Kamala Noore was out of place, but her inclusion was only a plot driver and can be forgiven all in all, i look forward to my Lucien Soulban read and would recommend this one to others |
