 | The Battleforce is extremely good value if you want to start out. I just had this convo with one of our red shirts today and even he said starting an army by buying bits and pieces instead of a battleforce can be a money drain. I believe fire warriors are always a must for tau armies

Blog Entries: 5  | well, fire warriors are 1+. But, i agree with Ikky a few devilfish with fire warriors will help lots and you can spring the FoF on an unsuspecting foe in a 500pt game! LMAO that is just rude. also, check out this for paint ideas: The Cheaper (but not worse) side of painting cheaper and great coverage.

| What kind of budget are you talking about? if its less than 100 than a battle force is the way to go if you are talking about more than your options really open up

| That sounds good Ikarus!!! I can buy some more too btw. A rulebook, some tau firewarriors? I'm gonna have over 300 to burn Birthday in feb, and i get 20 bucks a week for allowance (supposed to be for goin out with firneds and goin to movies but i convince my friends to not go to the movies and then eat at home and just keep the cash )edit: I think i'll just get GW paints to start off with, plus i wanna have good relations with my local store |

| for 300 you can build almost your entire army if you get good prices heck for the price Ikarus is selling stuff you probably could with just a few components to flesh it out

Blog Entries: 3 | I can easily get you 2k pts in 300$ or less. Even easier. Rulebook - I can get the mini one for you. Easier, smaller, and cheaper. @ Warmaster : I love Warfishes~ haha Get them from Hammerhead sprues. I have some but... they might be too overpriced for you - I sell em on ebay. They are just harder to get and I can't just 'order' em.

| Lieutenant  | So by this estimates, i could get an 1k army for ~150$? That`s 375 in local curency It`s not that much. Well, it is more than 2/3 of the minimum wage/month but i could manage that if i ever stoped being a lazy schmuck Oh, wait, that`s with US shipment costs gues it`ll be a lite more for old East Europe

| heres what i suggest: 3x fire warrior squads filling 3 devilfish 2x kroot squads crisis suit 2 gunships (hammer/ionhead, or sky rays. build all of them and make the turret interchangable so no matter the situation you have the gun to deal with it.) 'the fun stuff': broadsides, piranhas, whatever. flesh it out from here.

| well...sort of. theyre only good if theres some forests on the board, or at least lots of cover. theyre expendable troops, mostly. used to take out infiltrators, tie up small, elite squads (IE: termies) contest table quarters, and just make an ass of themselves.

| kroot are good in certain situations but i prefer an all tau army i havent fielded kroot in my last 10 games i had way to many of them (like 30) sitting around so i gave them to my buddy who wanted to make a kroot merc army we battle all the time the best one are COD battles its so hard to kill them with that much cover every where but the battle are sooooo much fun
