| I'm going to hold back the sarcasm that this question obviously deserves so that I can ask the question properly. I had someone try to pull this on me yesterday. Are the engines on Tau vehicles like the Hammer Head, Devil Fish, Missile Destroyers somehow not counted when shooting at the vehicle? My Storm Troopers with their targeters (so this argument started early) found that they were in range of a Hammer Head, but only it's engine. He said that the engine is not part of the hull and that it isn't counted as part of the vehicle. I'm very much well read on the rules of 40k even though I'm a little rusty but I double checked. I have found no mention of a hull when targeting a vehicle (not that that even matters because playing semantics there is stupid), I checked the Tau FAQ because that's where he said it was and I've looked at every rule about line of sight and every rule about vehicles. I destroyed the vehicle because he couldn't back up what he was saying. If someone knows about this phantom engine rule please inform me of it. I mean I will still ignore the rule because it is ridiculous but I'd like to know where I stand.

Blog Entries: 1 | He was obviously referring to the rule that states that all Tau vehicle engines are purely aesthetic, and the vehicles are really flown around by the Tau's non-existent psychic power. ![]() ![]() As far I know, you're completely correct. It's part of the vehicle. For cryin' out loud, it wouldn't move without the engines! |

| Yeah I mean they are giant hunking engines. I have never seen an eldar player try to ignore the large front crescents on their vehicles.
