Default Cagarner's Army List MKII

Ok then, I have changed my list from the previous one. I have added the trygon that i want to get, to see what your opinion about it is, compared with the rest of my army. The experimental rules are here to give you an idea of what it is like. I cant show the official rules for it obviusly.

So, here it is:

Winged Hive tyrant - 232
Bonesword & Laswhip
Scything Talons
Warp blast

Carnifex - 243
2X sything talons

Carnifex - 243
2X sything talons

Trygon - 290
2X sything talons

Winged Warriors (3) - 161
All have 1X Scything talons
Rending Claws
Lashwhip
Venom Cannon

Warriors (3) - 108
3X Scything Talons
Rending Claws
Barbed Strangler
Deathspitter

Genestealers (8)
Rending claws

Hormagaunts (16)
Scything talons

Termagants (8)
Fleash Borer

Spinegaunt (8)
Spine Fists

Impalergaunt (8)
Spike Rifle

Any ideas for additions, and is the idea of adding a trygon already be a good idea?

umm, assuming this is 1500 points, I'd say its not bad.

The trygon thingie is cool, but expesnive, its 1/5 of your army... not sure if its worth it.

As for the rest of your army, personally your gaunt squads are to small, with their terrible save they need some more bodies I'd think.

So what I'd do is this, instead of 3 differant squads, I'd get 1 squad of fleshborers/spinefists (whatever you prefer) and then those spike rifles (seen their rules before, forget what they are, but remember them being cool). As for everything else, all I can say is that I loathe melee 'fexes and you need some ranged support, a ranged fex would be nice.

i think that your pts are off on you tyrant and 'fexes?! or else there's more biomorphs you're not telling us about?!!

and yes, those gaunt broods are way too small to be effective bullet catchers! you need at least 12-16 bodies as a general minimum... anything less is simply ineffective target practice!

including something big, gribbly and spiky like a trygon is always a great way to make opponent's do silly things!

cheers!

Yea, I have loaded them with biomorphs, but could not be bothered to list them all. I know you may say its silly to do that, but they have served me well.

Right, moral of the story = MORE GAUNTS

What version of the experimental rules are you using?
I have version 2 and it says the Trygon costs 355pts.

As for the rest of the list...more gaunts

EDIT: Confound my crappy version 2.0

well, i'd honestly tone down the tyrant and one 'fex... having one T7, 5W 'uber death gribbly should be enough of a terror for your opponent to worry about! (plus the trygon!!!)

with the extra pts, you can get more gaunts, lots more gaunts!

gargoyles should never be ignored in any list in my opinion. having a unit capable of a potenial 24" move in one turn is just plain nasty! true they're not great in assaults, but they can very quickly stop enemy fire support units from shooting your bigger, meaner gribblies!

cheers!

Then the meaner gribblies get there....the fun starts then.
