   |  Cagarner's Army List (So Far) I would like some advice on what to get next for my Tyranid Army. Any ideas would be great. Right, Here it is... Winged Hive Tyrant Bonesword & Lashwhip, Warpblast, Sything Talons, 9 Symbiote rippers Carnifex 1 (Fluffy) 2 Sets of sything talons Carnifex 2 (Sid) 2 Sets of sything talons Winged Warrior Brood (3 Models) All Winged, all sything talons, Lashwhips, Rending Claws, Venom Cannon. Warrior Brood (3 Models) All Sything Talons, Rending Claws, Venom Cannon, Deathspitter. Impaler Brood (8 Models) Spike Rifle X8 Termagaunt Brood (8 Models) Fleshborer Hormagaunt (8 Models) X2 Sythin Talons Genestealers (8 Models) Sything Talons, Rending Claws. Any ideas on what to get next? |

| well, 1st off you'll need your opponent's permision to use your spike rifle gaunts now of corse! and they're not tourny legal anymore unfortunately... as for your tyrant, i'd drop the symbiote rippers as they're useless and instead plump for morphs like toxic miasma and your mandetory adrenal glands (both WS & I)... you could also consider adding on psychic scream to help counter any Ld bonuses your opponent might have too! (such as a guard army's officers or vet sergeants!) do not underestimate the power of a gun 'fex. infact, these guys are best source for anti-infantry and anti-tank fire power! a twin-linked venom cannon w/enhanced senses usually means an enemy tank won't be firing at all! while 2x twin-linked devourers & enhanced senses is simply cruel for enemy infantry!!! i find that assaulty 'fexes generally aren't worth their pts as they're so slow... honestly, i've never had a 'fex reach my lines except against a godzilla list!!! i'd drop all the big guns off of your warriors too - leave the shooting to the 'fexes, or else take all the same weapon in order to better specialise... besides, you have rending for taking out nasty stuff anyways! (again, i personally dislike the deathspitter as blast templates in general aren't nearly as effective as a devourer with it's living ammo rule  )i'd increase the size of your gaunt broods too - 8 is far too easy to wipe out... go for 14-18 models/brood. allows you to soak up incoming fire, but still be fairly effective once in range! overall your list has alot of good potential - it just needs some fleshing out! get yourself more gaunts!!! drown your opponent with large numbers of expendable hormagaunts, spine gaunts and termagaunts! one or two more bodies in each warrior brood wouldn't hurt either  hope this helps, cheers!

| no problems mate  one of my regular opponent's plays 'nids and its always his gaunts that eventually get my guardsmen! trying to kill off 60+ of the little buggers when you still have to worry about trying to deal with the synapse gribblies, (not to mention 'fexes and/or gargoyles!), is quite difficult! cheers!

| Conscript | well yeah gaunts will get guardsmen - but they wont get tanks (shooting or combat  )i cant stress how good tyranid weapons are! if taken in large enough numbers while keeping the mosnters carrying them as cheap and good as shooting as possible, youll have a good army! deathspitters are great, and now theyre assault and range 24". S6 with a small blast is very good! add in a few carnifexes with shooty weapons (particulallry barbed stranglers because the pin) and you can hopefully scare your enemy with your shooty things, causing him to split fire, which is what you want - to try and keep your combat nids alive |

| i heartily recomend that you twin-link any guns on your shooty 'fexes... sure it means they won't be so good in assault, but with only a max BS3, those re-rolls will more than pay off with the casulties you'll inflict! (and the tanks that will spend the whole game stuned/shaken!) plus, by keeping 'fexes to a single role you'll also help keep them cheaper than if you try to tool them for both shooting & assault... (just think of all the extra gribblies you'll be able to get too! )cheers!

Blog Entries: 4 | Ive just invested in new "shooty fex" its got two sets of twin linked Devourers, Spinebanks and Enhanced senses. Its a beast, it can tear squads apart with firepower or if it can get to the side/rear armour of most vehicles give them a hard time and if it needs to charge in as a monsterous creature Sweet! |

| hmmmm... yes! the ever popular 'quick draw' 'fex 8 twin-linked, S8 'living ammo' shots will scythe down even meq's!!!nastiest of all; the quick-draw tyrant w/psychic scream! if you thought the 8 shots from the 'fex was nasty enough, try 10 from queenie and also a -1 to your inevitable moral check for taking 25% casulties just to be mean!!!*evil laugh* cheers!

| *GASP* stich! im ashamed. but the combined effects of the tyrant and the fex will definatly break any squad. also, a two fex's with thornback and a tyrant in close combat counts as 50 models. overkill? perhaps.
