Default Hive Tyrant assembly question.

I want a Hive Tyrant with enhanced senses and wings. Do I just put on the regular head and say the tyrant has enhanced senses? It didn't come with any other heads than the regular one. It also didn't come with any wings. Again, do I just say it has wings? Thanks in advance.

im no pro but i think the rule is what you see is what you get so you need to find some wings to convert on there and for the inhanced senses i would paint certain area's of the head a brighter color like a yellowish green..but thats just my opinion

yeah the wings would have to modelled on for sure. the enhanced senses could be painted on or you could use something from one of the plastic kits as they come with some biomorph bits iirc.

Plastic dragon wings can be ordered here.

Enhanced senses can be painted on or you could use the enhanced senses head from a carnifex.

I thought about the carnifex enhanced senses head, but it's too big. I'm just gonna try and paint like extra eyes or somethin', and wings well... I was wondering what to do with the green stuff on nids. Thanks for the ideas all.

yea if you have green stuff model on a small oval and paint it like an extra eye. for wings, you have to have em. theyre big. plastic dragon wings are the way to go, either fantasy or LOTR depends what you like. Baelrog wings are also kinda cool looking

Also make note that if you are playing a game with friends, assuming they are nice, if they know you are going to put stuff on you don't need to have it on. That's what i did before i converted my necron lord scyths to staves. however for tournaments or official matches you will need to have the stuff to make it count

My thoughts exactly. Seven dollars for shipping sucks.

If the people ya play with are sticklers with the WYSIWYG rule...just use a lil bit of "green stuff" and make a set of antenna-things...it helps everyone to remember that the model in question has some kind of bio-morph.
As far as wings go...you'd be surprised what you can find in the toy isle of most stores...and if the wings are too small for the tyrant, there's always flying warriors...I made 6 winged-warriors thanx to the cheap toys from the dollar store!

Some official tournements won't let you have a 40k model with LOTR parts.
Some crappy liscencing thing that make no sense to anyone.

So if I used a model that I built from scratch, that was WYSIWYG... but only contained a few GW 40k parts (the rest was say... greenstuff) then I couldn't use it?

Cuz its the same thing...

As long as the majority of the model is GW produced and no bits from LOTR are in it it's fine.
Don't know how they're supposed to enforce this though. I can't imagine them asking someone to inventory all the bits used

I don't think your earwax is recognised by GW as one of their products.

I have another quick question. Can you have enhanced senses and bio-plasma on the same Hive Tyrant?

Well... to be honest... thats crap...

And, like you said, impossible to enforce.

It's also one of those rules that I'd break to make a point... just 'cuz...

Yes... I'm one of the people who would break that rule. Its not like I anything to lose...
