Default insanely evil list - read at your own peril!

okay, here it is! the list that turned phil kelly white!lol. we were sitting around the lounge having a pint just before games day canada back in may and got talking about future 'when we have some sanity to lose again' projects... i told him about my tyranid army themed around a splinter fleet that grandfather nurgle got his slimy hands on and "improved," only to unleash it as his newest plague
he thought, hey cool that would look awsome! a whole 'nid army of horribly bloated and desiesed bugs! then i told him what was in it...

so yes, you're counting right! after a little more tinkering, the list is now 88 models strong and includes 5 TMC's
oh, and it's only 1500pts which i guess is why people give me a terrified look whenever i talk about it!

I'm not the most familiar with the Nid codex, but is Toxic Miasma taken from the CSM codex?

I think to make a proper Plague Fleet, some Nurgle's Rot and such should be used! With opponent's consent, of course...

But great (and scary) lookin' list! Geez, 5 TMCs in 1500.... dear sweet Emperor... Well, I can get 6 Dreadnoughts in that much, but it's not quite the same...

nope, miasma is a 'nid biomorph that reduces an enemy's WS! (just to be mean so that i can hit them on 3's )

my goal was a list that can take the best of both worlds; nice big swarm of little gribblies but with plenty of godzillas just for the psychologially damaging effect!
i'd hate to face the 'assault cannon army of doom' though - i can even now see all 5 of my poor, defenseless monstrosities being gunned down in a single turn of rending nastiness...*cry*

mind you, i can't wait to see the look on someone's face when they get hit with the "terrible trio" of queenie (tyrant), crash (HtH elite 'fex) and shreddie! (shooty elite 'fex)
mmmmmm... 20 twin-linked, 'living ammo' shots and then 5 attacks from the charging 'fex!

hehehe! still sane i hope
cheers!

It does well in the 'both worlds' aspect. 81 small gribblies, 7 medium gibblies, and 5 monstrous beasts of doom is pretty intimidating. I think assault cannons of doom would be the best way to deal with it.

Calling your TMCs defenseless is not even funny...

Yeah, I looked in my CSM codex after I posted and it wasn't there, so I assumed it was a Nid morph. Fits well with the theme.

I guess I'd just try to wipe out the Synapse, as is the standard method. Assault cannons to the warriors, and lascannons/missile launchers/etc to the Tyrant. From there, who knows? Maybe a Librarian with Furious Charge to take on a Carnifex or two? There is that battle report where the Deathwatch marines wook out twice their points in Tyranid nastiness... including their Librarian taking down a Carnifex...

Now that was an extremely nice battle report! The best one I've read!

By the way stitch, I'd like to give you a game! My Eldar versus any 1500 point army of your choice! Though no power gaming ones, theres no possible way I'm coming up against that nid list of death! Away foul list...

Is there anywhere i could download that report?

I like List.
It'll make many people need new underware.

Not me though.
(I already am thinking of ways to send this abomination of Nurgle straight to the digestion pools with my own nid list)

112 models including 4 TMCs

The only problem is when I assimilate your bio-mass Nurgle will infect my beautiful Beasts too.

hahaha! yes i do remember that report and i really let phil have it too for being so bloody thick!!!
he had the chance to charge only the deathwatch as they were closer and could have avoided that librarian and his nasty, pointy death stick... instead he went the full 6" and hit the libby thinking he could kill it easily...-.-

who says the designers are smart?!!

anyways, i'm thinking i might just build this list for the impending astro nottingham... (more likely 2008, but eventually, it will happen!)
granted i doubt the army will do too well as 'nids have difficulty holding objectives, but just to see the look on my opponent's faces i think would be worth it! (don't worry, i'll bring a camera!)

cheers!

I normaly take a swarm army to overwhelm my opponents-but my Guard opponent has finaly got wise to the number of shots theory (just putting loads of Las guns on the field, instead of going for big showy units/guns).He promptly handed me my backside on a silver platter.
So hes in for a surprise post Christmas-hes going to be facing a Monsterous Creature army of doom.I keep forgetting you can use 'Fexs in elite slots-shows that familiarity with your own army list breeds contempt!

Oh, right, that one. Yeah, the after-action assessment said the same thing about charging in piecemeal, attacking the Librarian, etc.

I recently discovered how to do an effective number of shots with my Blood Angels. I also recently wised up and started using flamers again. I didn't used to because I thought I would always get charged, and that they would be useless. I have now seen the light.

My Eldar army contains no tanks, and each unit is about the same in points. This means no unit being killed effectively ends the game for me.

I'm getting some Fire Prisms and the like for Christmas though- 2 strength 5 AP 4 blasts works wonders against pretty much anything. And remember the lovely Strength 6 AP 3 blast. Or strength 10 AP 1 small blast. Hehehe

I'm considering getting a Whirlwind or two for my Blood Angels. After I get a Baal Predator. And another dreadnought... for theme purposes...

But I have a feeling, especially after playing DoW (not that that is a solid reason for buying a unit), that a Whirlwind would be a good idea against my Ork and Nid opponents. Probably even my Eldar opponent. And Tau, too. If they don't kill it first...

throw enough mud at a wall.....
but i like my nid list, as it is a good balance of big stompies and little gribblies (hee funny word) the 30 genestealers is a tad discouraging to your average power armoured foe.
the super assault cannon space marine list makes the nid players cry for their poor poor defensless stompies.
rosendal, definatly get the whirlwind. they are cheap and deadly against hordes. the big ordance blasts over the tightly packed (i pack em in anyway) swarms of little dudes makes a mockery out of your 5+ saves.

edit: man stubbers weird =D

A single whirlwind has spelt destruction for my Shas'la on more than one occasion. It always manages to decimate one squad and pin another. By the time I have it destroyed it usually takes about 30 out of 48 Fire Warriors with it.

Not anymore though. I'll show ALL of 'em. The city will be my playground of death.
heh ha ha, Ha Ha Ha, AAGGHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...cough..wheeze.

Yep. I do like the sig, though...

Anyway, would one Whirlwind do it, or should I get two?

i would go for two! why not!
theyre only aobut 80 pts, and they lay down alot more fire then their points cost. against horde armies, you can buy back their points in one good turn of shooting. also, you can put them behind terrain so it will be hard to take em out.

Very true... and then his pesky Zoanthropes can't get them... cool! Thanks!

That's not a very nice thing to say, is it?

The whirlwind would do more damage if you shoot it at nid warriors.
Far more expensive than gaunts and needed for their synaptic abilities.

face it mate, you're truely mad with that quote of yours! (not that, that's a bad thing mind!)

anyways, the thought of whirlwinds and basilisks the reason for the gargoyles; upto a possible 24" movement in one turn and then bio-plasma attacks on rear armour!
thinking about it, i might drop them to down 8 and see what else i could add-on for those spare 24pts?! hmmmm... that'll require some cunningly evil thinking now...

cheers!
