As well as most IG flamers/meltas using bulky backpacks for fuel, while SM use more venerable constructs with spare cylinders, etc.. So there will be slight differences.

And, as i've noted in my research, some things will require conjecture/common sense/modern day examples to fully illustrate (why for instance, the flamer, and why it operates off a tank system, yet has two tubes on the muzzle of the gun, etc..)

Yes, I like these type of pics. They have a schematic stlye look, and we should use something like em. Right, I'm gonna try and dig some Chaos stuff up. I'll concentrate on them. Thanks for all the help everyone. Any ideals how we can organize all this info? What should be done when we finish a race? I would'nt mind doing vehicles, but for now maybe we should stick to infantry, as this is a huge undertaking in and of itself.

I think the first goal, D_K, should be to get info together on IG and SM weapons. Then move onto armor. From that point, we can have the article(s) reviewed, proof read, and added to the Librarium. Xenos species will have less info, due to the fact we just don't know as much, so we'll be able to do them quicker. Hence doing the Imperium and Chaos first.

we could also make it a theme of the conversion contests perhaps? As in model the most accurate mk 1/ whatever armor for use in the database. And since it might need to be on a preheresy marine in some cases that could be a theme too.

We want to stay away from models though Ides.. And keep it as more of a technical/schematic data. I'll take some pics of MK VIII armor in next time I work with Michael (artist friend) and show h im ho wthe MK VI and such stack/look like and then have him see if he can do the same for MK VII and MK VIII, and possibly weaponry.

That aside... I've noticed there is no good pics for an inferno pistol.... Anyone able to find any?

The inferno pistol looks like an 1800s pistol but with some flames sprouting from the front and a cord tethered to the user. All the models are slightly different since it isn't a standardized weapon but rather a commissioned piece done by a master smith for each inquisitor/sister that wields one

Right.. But I know the bits the soriatas use are like bolt pistols crossed with flamers... And that is the pic I remember best, I just can't find a close up, detailed pic of it to give to my friend to draw.
