Replied - I'm here.

You didn't have to beg, you have a pro site!

Anyway, nice to see you all. I suppose the first thing to ask is - do you have any links with other forums running similar initiatives?

I charge about all over the place causing mayhem and sometimes I forget forum etiquette, tribal rules, and all the segregation stuff so be patient as I learn the ropes around here and make 'silly' suggestions.

If it's OK, I'll mention some others who I think could contribute to your goals?

Philip

Sure... We'll use them, or such. The main thing a lot of people forget on 40k Forums is in the end we're all fans of the same game.

PS - Dragoon, the Dark Heresy Rulebook has some BEAUTIFUL sketch style drawings of a lot of the weaponry, as well as little fluff like blurbs. I'll see if I can get those to you.

I'm glad to hear that.

Playing middleman, I've sent of an email to see if I can get some cross forum communication going. Not promising anything, but those I've emailed are a cool lot, and I think they will be happy to talk (the email is a courtesy, I don;t like to assume)

I'll post back when I have an answer.

The more info we get, the better. I just want everyone to have one coherent, collected place going where they can come to learn and grow in the hobby.

OK, I've heard back from CELS, he's over on the ASP (Anargo Sector Project) and he said he doesn't mind links to his images, but he would like a 'small credit' (which is fair considering the work he has put in)

There are two threads that may be of interest to 40K terra's initiative, as they contain images. They are also about sketch-up and I'm always trying to get people to use the tool at is really is far too kwell. Anyway, a picture speaks a thousands words;
Anargo Sector Project :: View topic - [Imperial technology] New tanks
Anargo Sector Project :: View topic - [Imperial technology] Guns
And the original sketch-up thread;
Anargo Sector Project :: View topic - [Imperial technology] Let's draw some vehicles

Remember he started out as a fan, and sketch-up empowered him to make these wonderful images. I would encourage every fan to 'have a go', there a million worlds in the Imperium and they all need 'local gear'

As a side note, the ASP has been trying to construct a whole Imperial sector of space, and if you feel adventurous about this project perhaps may wish to consider it a 'home away from home', and then port back your creations (and theirs) for 40KTerra!

The project is so massive; you can imaginee that they would want some help, and I sense an opportunity for some mutual concept and image sharing. Perhaps this project on 40KTerra could be a sister project to ASP?

Lets organise people!

Philip

I'll start a draft of fluff on SM ASAP.

A list of things to do:-
Draft list of sources- []
Compile Armour Details- []
Compile Weapons List, with general overview- []
Compile Weapons Variations- []
Write up detailed first draft- []

Should take me a week, maybe more.

Yes! Sorry I'm late. Happy you could make it! Hey Erus, any sketch type drawing would be good, so whenever ya have the time.

Let me know how it goes, I notice there are a few modellers here, and Anargo is more background and sketch-up, this gives me ideas...

Hey Dragoon King, glad you could join us!

I suggest all you fluffmonkeys here check out the ASP. I've been checking it out, and they are doing amazing work there. I'm trying to help them when I can, but my fluff knowledge and artistic skill are pretty much nil. There are quite a few members here who are talented modelers. I came across a thread at ASP for truescale marines. Right up Dead Commando's alley, I even saw Preheresy World Eaters. Erus, with your fluff knowledge, you should check it out. We have numerous other fluffninjas, so I'd suggest them to do the same. Right, back to the Armoury. What is our statis? IA, what do we need most? We still need pics? I've had no sleep for about 30 hours, so I'm more scatterbrained than usual, but I'll try to help us along when I'm better rested. I really do think we should use some of CELS work, so I'll get a few pics and post them here later, and you guys can decide what would best work for us. Please be sure to credit him if we do use his stuff, because I made a personal promise to him that he would receive full credit, and he is a great guy. Also, thanks again Philip for helping us out.

Glad to see ya joined up, LC. You can help those guys a lot more than me, you fluffninja! Right, I'm gonna see if I can find a good pick of the Reaper Autocannon, or any Chaos weapon for that matter. You have any more good links Philip?

Ha, that's the problem. I'm not really sure. I was thinking just standard weapons when I started this thread, but now I kinda want a few variants of weapons. We need pics of standard ones right now I guess, because they would be easier to find. My grandmother is sick, so I won't be around much for awhile. So if anyone has ideals for the armoury, just post them and I'll try to check in when I can.

Ok... *heroic trumpet sound)

Organizing time!

IA has SM armor and fluff down.. So lets stay with SM..

We need good basic pictures and fluff on SM weapons.

Lets start with bolter, bolt pistol, and chainsword first.. THese are the basics... When we get these up, we'll move to assault weapons, then heavy/devastator weapons, then vehicle mounted only weapons.
