| THE PRIMARCHS The greatest living warriors in the galaxy next to the emperor himself, these superhuman leaders have ruled over the terrifying power of the space marine legions, genetically engineered warriors made from their own gene-seed. THE LOYAL PRIMARCHS, THEIR BACKGROUND. Roboute Guilliman, lord of maccrage, primarch of the ultramarines. -landed on maccrage -One of two leaders of maccrage had dream of meeting Guilliman and found him beside waterfall - Consuls died, Guilliman took over, and maccrage becomes efficient - emperor finds Guilliman, Guilliman takes over ultramarines -- Lion’el Johnson, primarch of the dark angels - landed on caliban - found by group of primitive knights, leader of knights named luther, to become jhonson’s second in command and in later years, his worse nhemisis - emperor found caliban, instant connection established between emperor and jhonson - -jhonson put in command of dark angels, luther set as garrison of caliban, jhonson and dark angels depart for the great crusade -- Jaghatai khan, primarch of the white scars - landed on mundus planus - found by nomad tribe, when leader died, khan became leader of band - banded the disparate nomad tribes and overruled main planetary aristocracy - emperor landed on mundus planus, khan put into command of white scars, departs for great crusade -- Leman russ, wolf primarch of the space wolves - landed on fenris - raised by she-wolf - thengir, lord of russ, found leman russ and took him in as his own - emperor beaten in challenges against russ after arriving, having seen that russ has taken the throne of his realm from his late predecessor - russ swore fealty to the Imperium and took command of the space wolves. -- Rogal dorn, primarch of the imperial fists - rogal dorn met emperor born upon trhe starship phalanx - phalanx returned to dorn and made fortress monastery of the imperial fists, which dorn took over -- Sanguinius, primarch of the blood angels - sanguinius landed on baal - sported angel like wings - adopted by primitive tribe of humans - sanguinius met by emperor on baal, swore fealty to the emperor and took command of the blood angels -- Ferrus manus, primarch of the iron hands - ferrus landed on medusa - ferrus stayed alone, testing his phisical limits - attack against metal wyrm Asirnoth, Asirnoth beaten, absorbed into ferrus’ hands and arms -- Vulkan, primarch of the salamanders - landed on nocturne - taken in by blacksmith - raid by dark eldar defeated - games held, emperor enters against vulkan, vulkan gets a near-death experience, but the emperor saves him, sacrificing his victory to save vulkan - vulkan swears fealty to the emperor and takes control of the slamanders -- Corax, primarch of the raven guard - Landed on deliverance - Taken in by mine-slaves and trained in hand to hand and infiltration tactics - Overthrew slave masters with help of the emperor, swears fealty to the emperor and takes control of the raven guard THE FATE OF THE LOYAL PRIMARCHS • Ferrus Manus died at the Drop Site massacre at the start of the Horus Heresy, and Fulgrim presented his head to Horus. • Sanguinius was slain by Horus after refusing to join him. • Lion El'Jonson returned to his homeworld of Caliban only to discover that his friend and second-in command Luther and the Dark Angel garrison had turned against him2. He led a strike force of his own loyal Dark Angels against the traitors. He disapeared amongst the inferno as the world was blasted apart by a Warp Storm and a bombardment from his ships in orbit. He sleeps deep within the Rock, the biggest piece of Caliban and current homebase of the Dark Angels1,2. Only the Emperor and the Watchers of the Dark know of this secret. • Jaghatai Khan disappeared as he was pursuing Dark Eldar into a webway portal after they had managed to raid Mundus Planus. Rumours abound that he fights there still, lost in the twisting paths of the Webway. After nine thousand years it seems highly unlikely, but not impossible. • Leman Russ disappeared in the Eye of Terror. The Space Wolves hold a legend that says Russ went on a quest to find a means to cure the Emperor. His last message reported that he was near-death, but that he would return for the Wolftime. • Rogal Dorn boarded a Chaos cruiser during a Black Crusade alongside a company of his sons and died fighting. He was one of the last Primarchs to die. Today, all that remains of him are the bones of his hands that is housed in the holiest shrine of the Imperial Fists chapter. Another theory states that he now commands the Adeptus Custodes. • Roboute Guilliman was struck down with an envenomed blade by his former brother Fulgrim. His body is perfectly preserved in a Stasis field at the heart of the Temple of Correction3. It is rumored that he is alive and that his wounds are slowly healing, something normally impossible in a stasis field. The truth of this rumor is unknown. • Vulkan disappeared. The position of Chapter Master, filled by the Captain of the First Company, is considered to be a regency as the Salamanders believe that Vulkan will one day return and lead them on a great crusade against Chaos. • Corax was racked by guilt and shame. In order to rebuild quickly the strength of his legion from the Dropsite massacre on Isstvan V, Corax accelerated the growth of the gene-seed organs, producing more Space Marines but this process also deteriorated the Gene-seed, causing many to become hulking monsters. Riddled with guilt over what he had done, Corax administered euthanasia to all of them and then locked himself away within his sanctum, the Raven's Tower. Exactly one year later he left his tower, haggard and gaunt, and took a small shuttle craft with the words Never more. It was last monitored setting a course for the Eye of Terror. |

Blog Entries: 4 | Given that the new Dark angels codex doesn't mention El Johnson sleeping in the Rock, can we still take that version as canon?

Blog Entries: 1 | We can, as it hasn't been refuted. Also, I agree with braindeleted, each Primarch should have their own article.

| I'll take Vulkan, Fulgrim, and hmmm... Thats all for now. I would advise anyone doing an article on Dark Angels to await the new Descent of Angels book forthcoming from the Black library, just as I am awaiting Fulgrim. P.S. - Just in case you want to know, the sword Fulgrim struck down Guiliman with is, by strong conjecture, the athame from the Interex/Kinnebranch. Given that Horus gave it to Fulgrim as a sign of trust on his mission to try and convert Ferrus. |

Blog Entries: 1 | well Since there are 18 primarchs I think this set of articles should have some consistency so I have come up with a template for them: (Primarch name), Primarch of the (Legion name), (Legion #) Origins: (place were Primarch landed, info on upbringing, Status there, and any other information about him prior to meeting the Emperor) The Coming of the Emperor: (Primarch's first contact with the emperor and events that happened when they met) The Great Crusade: (Primarch's and his legions activities during the Great Crusade prior to the Horus heresy) The Horus Heresy: (Primarch and his legions reactions and activities during the heresy) Fate(of course if he was killed during the heresy this in N/A): (The ultimate fate of the Primarch in question, his activities after the heresy to the current 41st Millennium or his death) Feel free to make any changes as this is just a suggestion ![]()
