Talking New Job Opening: Librarians

We will be opening up our Librarium or our 40k Glossary.

Essentially only Librarians and staff may add on to the list (members can help contribute in a coming forum, just to help cut down on troubling words and works).

The Librarians will be charge of the whole Informational database. This will define words, weapons, anything with the 40k world to spread knowledge amongst the fellow Terrans and have a great informational space.

The Librarium is opening.

Will you be the keeper of the Imperium's ancient knowledge?

Job:
Contribute to the 40kTerran Librarium Glossary of 40k Terms. Edit, revise, or create meaningful definitions.

Oh yes there will be a Librarian badge

Anyone can apply.

We are looking for the knowledgeful who can add to the Librarium, you can still help out without being a Librarian through member submissions. Librarians are just a job to keep the place clean and tidy.

i could potentially do it. while i may not have specific definitions for some 40k terms, there are some i could undoubtedly do, but more importantly i could fix grammar and spelling, for the ease of readers, etc.

just offering my services :]

I'd like to fill out for this posistion.

If any credentials are needed I've been playing 40k for about seven years. I've read almost half of the Black Library and a Straight A English Student. I've been called a Fluff Nazi on such forums as the Bolter and Chainsword, and woe betide the fool who types "teh" instead of "the".

I've written numerous stories, some 40k, some not 40k and almost gotten published. If anyone would like a link to some of my fiction ask or PM me and Ill add the links to the post.

I would love to do this. I am a 40k fluff freak. A member of the BL fluff forum (if that counts), and love debating on the finer points of 40k fluff. I don't own that many codexes or BL books (only 2 BL books, three codexes, though I want to get the Guard, CSM, new Eldar and possibly the Nercrons codexes). But have a large amount of knowledge regarding 40k in the old nugat.

I would also like to join. Hmm, this is a great idea, though it may clash with Icarus Athrasuriel's "History of the Imperium" project. Unless he wants to join?

Anyways, I know i am already part of the staff, but i think i would be a useful contributor for the team.

sign me up! my knowledge of the 40k universe is pretty extensive - i've borrowed a number of 1st and 2nd edition books off a friend, and i'm thinking of doing so again...
i really enjoy debating 40k background with others and if it helps, i always scored at least a 7 out of 10 on the GT & astro quizes!

i own a good sized collection of BL novels too! (including the quiz book.)

i've been into 40k for about 7 years or so now... have all the codices and only missing the 2002 & 2003 chapter approved books. (but i have all those white dwarfs!)
i also really enjoy writing up background for my guard army! (a brief synopsis of the lodis' is in the guard section!)
plus, i've posted my short story 'the soulhunter' on here too!

cheers!

I would very much enjoy contributing to this! On Librarium-Online, I was a Fluff Master, which was a rank given to those who could answer 7/10 questions about the 40k universe. Needless to say, they were quite difficult. I had to try it twice, but I made it!

I also enjoy reading BL books, and have skimmed various codexes. I must admit that I am more of a Space Marine nut than anything. While I may not have all the editions of the Codex, I do have 3rd edition as well as 4th, and I also own all 4 of the Index Astartes fluff books (as well as have read them several time over).

another willing applicant here. I take pleasure in finding out all the small details that generally ignored in fiction and fluff.
But i have what i would call a good level of general awareness of all races and major events in 40K.

I'd like to join.

I'm already working on a very involving and extensive glossary for the History of the Imperium project.

Additionally, I am now in possession of a coveted fluff bible, which I have all but memorised in order to use it's knowledge for my project.

Well, I might as well volunteer too. I have been playing GW games since 1984 (i have the original 3 book fantasy ruleset) and have been plaing 40k since the Rogue Trader days. I try to read all of the "fluff" I can and own almost all of the codices (old and new). I just begining to read the Black Library novels, if that helps.

I'll apply. I'm not trying to badge collect, but I think I could help here. I've read most of the Black Librarys books, almost all the codexes from first until current edition (and can have them to read again in short notice). Also possess one of those heretical 'Fluff Bibles' which I am in the process of editing to be more current, when time allows (which isn't very darned often).

MSguardsmen, everybody has an equal opportunity to gain this position, irrelevant of current ranks/positions. All you have to do is be able to know a good amount of fluff. If you want to become part of the librarian team, then signup.

Nay lad! Apply anyway! Did the Imperium defend Cadia 13 times in the face of overwhelming odds by not trying because they were 'outclassed'? No! They shouldered their guns and marched into the field and won through! No one gets anywhere without trying, and you don't have to be a man who knows every bit of fluff forwards and backwards. Maybe your a guru with a paticular force or section of that force, and know all the fluff there is to know! No matter what your expertise, we'd welcome your involvement with open arms.

And MS, I understand the joke! But honestly, as I said. Not trying to badge collect. I just wanted to extend the offer, as when I singed on to help 40K Terra, my original posistion was over the fluff and Chaos forums, along with our AWOL'd mod Dark JEster (whom extends his regrets, but due to family conflicts is not able to access the internet except when at my house, and then it's usually to check for rulings!). Since the fluff area was put on hold for other things, when the Librarium opened I offered my services eagerly, as this was what originally piqued my interest!

Well, I'm definitely up for a Librarian job! As I've said on my introduction I'm pretty mad about fluff and background, and have spent many hours trying to find as much information as I can on the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium. Its what I find most fun about the whole hobby!

I'll do it if there's any positions left open.

I have extensive knowledge of Imperial and xenos society, important events in Imperial history.

I am a fluff addict who has read dozens of background books including The Eisenhorn Trilogy, Ravenor, many of the Gaunts ghosts novels and every scrap of background I can find in any codex I can lay my hands on...old and new.

I'd sincerely like to join this. Although I have had relatively little presence in this forum before now, I intend to spend a lot more time here. I already spent a lot of my time haunting Warseer and Librarian Online, and in terms of fluff, there are few who can match me, and this project looks like something I'd really enjoy. I'm a semi published author, with excellent English skills, and have witten several wikipedia 40K pages simply out of boredom. There are few books on 40K I haven't read (bless eBay), and I've read what could be considered the main and important BL fiction novels (and know enough to just what is reliable from BL and isn't)

Oh, and if it helps convince in any way, last weekend I got relatively drunk and genuinely believed I was an Imperial Guardsmen and began searching for heretics to battle in the middle of a party. For several hours. And to think some people claim I'm losing my grip on reality!!

You can still post a few things in the Librarium and we can sift through them and find whats good...just make sure the fluff hasn't been posted before.

At least I think you can???
