Name Change - 40K Terra

It light of some recent news brought to us about using "Inquistor" as the title of our mag, it has come to the attention of Erus and I that a change is in order.

Before we all start on the GW sucks rant, the issues are not all GW. There is a tabloid paper already in print for years called "The Inquisitor". I have talked to a few attourneys and have been advised by them to change our name because they could come back on us with a copyright infringement suit.

With that said, our idea is to change the name of our mag to something more in line with 40K Terra, and we need YOUR help! Below are the names we have come up with. Please post telling us which you like the best. Also, if anyone knows how to put a poll on this it would be greatly appreciated (I hit the finish tab before I put it in).

Imperial Doctrine
Battlefront News
The Dataslate

If you have a suggestion other than those listed, please let us know what it is. Thank you all in advance for your help on this.

mm i liked the inquisitor, short and sweet. but imperial doctrine does definitely have a nice sound :] ID for me too.

the trouble with a names like Imperial Doctrine and Liber Imperialis, is that they give a strong impression that the content is focused on Imperial forces only.

Something more generic such as either The Terran or The Dataslate would be far better in my opinion.

Well, like it or lump it, lol, the web site IS named 40k Terra. If we follow your vein of reasoning as a valid move to strike options from the list, then by that reasoning we would need to change the web site name, as having Terra in it could be said to favor the Imperium.

However, that does bring to light the fact that maybe a few more inventive, non Imperial/faction name could be suggested.

Sorry for not coming up with something else, but i really don`t like "THE" in titles

I`m sure someone will come out with some catchy name in a week or so :P

Don`t rush this things, we`re not writers and we don`t work in advertising either, you know :P

I`ll ask around for opinoins, but you`ll find that most kick*** ideas are already taken (just like the good ol` Inquisitor).

Guys, don't get hung up on the "The". When you cast your lot in, just post drop the "The".

As far as supporting the other races in the mag, the only real title you could have is Faction. After all isn't that what any army is? They all represent a different stand point. The reason we have the names choices we do is to help tie the mag in with the forum. The hope is that if we can get shop owners to print this and lay it on their counter, we can get new members to the forums.

I'm glad to see this going so far, so fast. There are a lot of you who really believe in this site and it shows. That's what makes a community worth being a part of.

As Apocalypse draws closer (Oct. 8), we have a need to put a litle get up and go on the name change. If it were up to us, we wouldn't change it at all. Erus' vision sees this in print at the release (or resonable facsimilie of) the Apocalypse rules. That's really the only reason we are pushing it r
