| heya peeps i entered a painting comp at my local store today, the store manager actually advised i do with the model i finsihed, and it was cool coz even tho im not here at the time of the comp, if i win they can save my model and tell me when i get back! but as i looked into the cabinet, i saw some amazing work, i was a highly modifyed chaos dreadnought, that had a layer of slime on it and bubbling pustls to represent nurgle... and i also saw the model know as celestial the summin or other i was just wondering what model you think is the best to enter into contsests, personally i really like captian lysander, commander dante, or the skulltaker what do you think?

But saying that you can never go wrong with a termi in a dramatic pose. Just my opinion

| i agree with warchild, to much fluff is a killer, there is always a perfect amount but its hard to judge that, maybe personal preference decides it but i usually just go with my gut on that sort of thing. As for the model itself, termis are great because first of all they are larger, second of all you can put alot of detail on them and make them look like a vet of 100000 battles if you catch my meaning. Battle scars, some oath papers, a head hanging off here or there, etc. In the end its all up to what you want, have, can do.

| Personally, you need to pick a mini that you feel comfortable with and not something that is to overwhelming. Remember to that painting contests vary as everyones perception on what looks good and does not differs from judge to judge. Just pick a model you like and have a go at it.
