Of course.... I do agree!!!
After years of spending mega-bucks for GW's "easy-bake" fast drying *before applied* paints, I found these wallet savers! Been using them for over 2 years and still have yet to use a full bottle! *black's gettin close tho*
1: CHEAP
2: PIGMENT HEAVY
3: EASILY THINNED *washes made easy*
4: I CAN SHOOT EM OUT O MY AIRBRUSH!!!
*this is very uncommon for a cheap paint!*

I used to use these when I first started, but always found them to be lacking a bit. I think I'll do another test model to see if it really was the paints or just me.

Just remember to thin them, and I think youll be happy with the results.
*PS... skip on the crappy metallic colors (im no big fan o them... still use GW there)

thanks steve but i think i'll stick to paying top dollar for the citadel range, mainly cos i'm too lazy to learn a whole new range of paints

All of the eldar in my WIP are done using these as well.

so my painting skill sucks, but that has nothing to do with the paints.

For the most part. Though I do second gregor. I would stay with GW metallics. The Apple Barrel ones are too light/bright for me.

About shades of color......
where the GW range has say..... 5 shades of the base color...... Apple Barrel *plaid* has about 20! (sometimes wal-mart will only carry a few, but check out Michael's they have a TON)

He did that on purpose. The GW method of painting them does NOT matching the description of the armor in the codex and fluff, or virtually anywhere else but the GW way of painting them. The only drawback I have found to these paints is sometimes the colors seem a bit off in photographs. The nice, dark purple I found seemed almost to have a bright blue tinge to it in pics. But it seems to be only colors w/ blue in them (purple and such) that do this. It could also very well be the lighting in my apartment or my camera (both were used in these pics). But in person it looks a smoky, blue-grey. Just like fog up in the mountains, which is how the SW armor is to look.

try hobbycraft if you have one near you. maybe asda but i wouldn't think so. you might try any art supply shop you find. maybe wilkinsons?

I know.. I think it is because the light we used is flourescent in that room. Add that to a flash, and i've heard from an art major friend of mine that it could produce whacky results. When it's sunny out, we'll take more pics.
