| Conscript ![]() | they sound (and look) very cool, but im not sure im going to like the price much. i juststarted painting lysander as a commision for someone, and i had the bright idea of giving him a black undercoat. at the moment hes had 10 coats of paint (snakebite leather... so theres a way to go yet). just for the fun of it ill buy a pot of the new ochre coundation paint to see how well that covers black, then ill be able to say whether or not i like these new paints! |

Blog Entries: 1 | I'm certainly not going to use CF for all of my painting, but I'm definetly going to get some CF red. All I have is this red acrylic stuff that looks like crud on models. |

| well until recently i had been ok with the price of the models. 35 american is a good price for a leman russ right? but however 5 american for one oz of acrylic paint? i think not. i can buy the same thing at the paint store except in a bigger jar from some other company. this is just ridiculous. 15 dollars for 3 brushes etc etc. just unbelievable

| the age of reptiles ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | GW brushes and paints are pricey indeed, but the paints i think work pretty well. right now i'm not horribly angry about USD 3 per pot, but 5 is definitely pushing it. i suppose we'll have to wait to see how well they actually work :] -ant

| At first look. Don't get me wrong, it is a good product. And I think the examples and people I spoke to who had seen them had rather biased views. But, preliminary reports (all GW fanboys aside) seem rather flat and un-inspired. Not a good thing, not a bad thing, definitely overpriced. |

| I think I'll try the red one at least for my Dwarf robes and Warp Spiders. Then I'll see whether to buy any more or not.

| ok heres the deal on these- GW isnt making these as some 'marketing scheme just to get money bla bla bla whatever' they made these due to people saying that they had to put 4-5 coats of __ on an undercoat of __ just to get it to look good. ive seen these and used these on a test model at the glen burnie battle bunker cause they were showing off the new paints. what these do-you have a model primed black and you use one coat of these to cover it. just one, then the end color, and its fine. i have to disagree with erus here. if you want to have a lighter colored force such as imperial fists then instead of having to do 4-5 coats of yellow you need one coat of the yellow foundation and sunbust yellow or whatever it is. if i had these available when i did my world eaters i wouldve gotten them. they are very useful (and im not a GW fanboy.) |

| the age of reptiles ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i can definitely see why you would want something to cut down on layering-the EC boys have a headache every time they attempt pink, and i know the great banana marines have trouble as well. i'm not against it, i just think 5 is a little pricey.. haha :] -ant

| I've tried out the new paints at my local store. They're pretty good and i can see where they'll come in useful. I think they'll make life easier for most painters and are probably good for the inexperienced. However i also think that they could make it far easier to accidently overpaint a model. They're quite thick and viscous. Plus, in some cases, the colours really aren't what you'd want to use for a base coat. They'd be really good on reasonably flat areas like tanks and space marine armour. However, they don't work so well on cloaks and shizz like that: it gives a slightly unnatural look unless you highlight to almost white and then ink to tone it down which kinda defeats the objective. I recommend testing these paints before you splash out on buying them. Denna |

| I've finally put down the deposit! To be honest I'll find every one of them useful over time, and I really like them! For quick and easy robes (I have a lot of Dwarfs!) they'll be nice, and will also make the painting of my aspect warriors go loads quicker. If you try 'em and like 'em, I encourage you to put down a deposit!

| well they really arent supposed to be the only coat on something. they made these paints so that you wouldnt have to put down 6 coats of yellow so it looks even. you will only have to do one foundation paint and the color you want it to be. it can be highlighted and stuff like that as normal. |

| Hm..... so is there a list of what colors there is? Because i'm hoping there is a white/bleached bone. A lot of my Black Saints colors will be black, Bleached Bone, and and a mix of Tinbitz/Boltgun Metal. The Bleached bone has been rumored to be a biatch on black. Or any white at all for that matter. Also... Do you guys think if there is just a white, it could be mixed with bleached bone to color, and then still have roughly the same effects as the foundation? |

| There isn't a white I'm afraid, but there is a bright grey. There is a colour quite similar to bleached bone, and I'm sure it would be easy to get that to the colour you want. So, a list of colours. I don't know all of them, but they do have several for these colours: Green, Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Beige/stone.

Blog Entries: 1 | Lucky for you, I got the latest issue of WD in the mail two days ago. Lucky also, is the fact that it shows the complete ragne of colors. I'll do my best to descibe the ones in need of it. Astronimicon Grey- Blue grey Adeptus Battlegrey-purple(ish) Fenris Grey- Dark Blue Necron Abyss-Even Darker Blue Mordian Blue-Color of the Mordian uniforms Hormagaunt Purple-Looks a lot like Grape Koolaid Mechrite Red-Apple colored Macharius Solar Orange-Red oragne Iyanden Darksun-tan Tausept Ochre-self descriptive Tallarn Flesh-litghtish brownish Calthan Brown-brown... Gretchin Green-looks like green olives Knarloc Green-darkish green Orkhide Shade-Dark green Charadon Granite-dark dark brown...I think Khemri Brown-dark tan Dheneb Stone-super light grey Well, for those of you who have seen them, you might be able to clarify on the colors a little; for those of you who haven't, you'll have to understand that some, or most, of these colors are somewhat odd. (I tried to scan it but they showed up funny. ) |
