Default Grenadiers Colour Scheme

Presenting Grenadier Smith, of the 77th Helstrom Siege Grenadiers. This guy was the trial for my colour scheme, so he was more about getting the palette right than doing a neat job, which is why the arial on his pack is bent, the mold-lines are still there, and the primer and bare metal are still showing in some places. Now, enough of me putting myself down, what do you think?

Next time I probably won't use gloss varnish, it makes the armour plates look too much like plastic.

looks like he's ready to kill for the emperor! good solid guard colours and a nice neat paint job. my finished minis tend to look scruffier than you test piece! i like the red power feed lines for the hellgun, as it adds a bit of colour. and the 'purge' on the hellgun is a nice touch too. bravo.

Yeah, I tend to be rather self-depricating when it comes to my own painting, that's probably why I win prizes. Of course the problem is that I can never be satisfied with my models, but the new foundation paints have helped with that. I love those paints, I really do.

yea, the red power cables are a cood contrasting colour to the chalky colours. I think the Coms antenna might be bent though....

Good colour scheme, quality painting. +Rep!

i like the idea of grey + bone.

however, i think the grey could do with being just a shade darker to add a little more definition between the armour & cloth areas...

hope this helps,
cheers!
