| ex Chaplain Shadow ![]() | Hello, I have a quick question about GW paint brushes. Is it me or do they just plain suck? I just ordered a Fine Detail Brush, and as soo as I started painting with it for the first time it frayed on me. $8.00 so it frayes. I didn't glob it in the paint I just tabbed it and the very end of the brish so no paint got at the base of the brush so I have no idea what to do with these brushes, it isnt the first time this has happened. Can anyone recommend me to a better brush company? |

Blog Entries: 1 | They're better than some things I've used. With fine detail brushes, you have to get them wet, wipe off the extra water, then reshape the point.(that may even meen sticking it in your mouth) |

Blog Entries: 4 | I use them - just keep them moist and dont let the paint build up or thicken, clean them regularly and leave them slighly damp and shaped when you finish! I have one uber fine detail brush that I bought from a specialist but that rarely comes out but it is fantastic to use - hence very expensive (why is it generaly that the less of somthing there is the more you pay)?! |

| Trooper ![]() | I don't like them. I've really been liking the Reaper Golden Taklon brushes. They've all lasted me really well and are cheaper than the GW ones. http://www.carttonic.com/catalog/ind...27&pi_id=96830 |

| yeah gw brushes come to the stores frayed and in packaging. i had to use them when i was working there last year and they can work albeit with great pains and practice. For my own stuff I seriously prefer Lowell Cornell, I even have a favorite type "comfort series" they are a good middle range price and nice quality. I think if you just go to an art store and pick up any good brush set you will fall in love with whatever you pick first. It will just be so much better than GW brushes you wont care.
