| Lieutenant   |  Is this how a droppod looks like? Dunno but... maybe i was just blind all this time... but i never saw one with quadruple asscans... Is this some sort of dropable turret thingy?

Blog Entries: 1   | Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? Its a Deathwind Drop Pod, they're suppose to land before the troop carrying variety and completely saturate the LZ with fire power. They also come in a missile launcher version for all a shoppers needs

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? I believe the rules are in Imperial Armour Volume 2 (The Space Marine and Inquisition one, not the Orks and Eldar obviously). In game term I believe you can aim them slightly but in fluff terms they aren't there to be aimed- a number land and completely fill an area with gun fire/missiles before the other drop pods land, accuracy is secondary to sheer weight of fire.

| Lieutenant | Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? But.... but if the gun shots in only ONE way... even if you have 100 of this on a battlefield (which won`t be a perfect plain so a lot of em will be shooting at the dirt or the air) people can simply NOT go into their line of fire

Blog Entries: 1 | Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? well yeah. but these things are only designed to fire for about a minute tops- imagine these drop pods slamming into the ground virtually IN your position, the sides drop down and instantly the air is filled with assault cannon rounds and/or missiles. pretty devastating and definitely a suitable way to soften up the target for when the Space Marines arrive seconds after the pods have run out of ammo.

| Corporal   | Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? Confusion, total panic, the knowledge that only seconds from now you will face the holy might of the Emperors elite? I think in the mass scramble to get away, combined with the power of the machine spirit inside this DP (giving it a ballistic skill, so yes it CAN aim) that it would get a fair few kills.

Last time i saw a machine gun fixed to a heavy metal structure almost all bullets went through the exact same spot in the target The assault cannon isn`t HELD it`s MOUNTED Yes, the projectiles won`t go in a straight line, but they won`t cover 90 degrees from the muzzle either so there`s enough safe space for the enemy in case those guns are fixed and not mobile So the question was if it was bolted or mobile from what people said it seems it`s mobile and has AI or Machine Spirit to aim, it that case it`s great

| Re: Is this how a droppod looks like? This is one of FW's earlier models and while it looks great, the detail is not really up to their more recent work. That said, it's pretty clear that the AC is meant to be able to traverse (in "real life") by pivotting on the round plate underneath the body of the AC.
