| sorry to tell you that you are gonna have to experiment mixing the colors there isnt any thing i can tell you to help with that but the good news is ABpaints are so thick you have to thin then out with a lot of water thus actually giving you a little paint to waste experimenting

| You could really go for having a yellow to complete your color wheel. I know your plight. I was in Japan last year and I didn't want to buy a whole new paint set. I ended up with about 11 paints to make an entire Ork army that used a lot of different camo schemes. It's all about knowing your color wheel. You could really go for having a yellow to complete your primary colors and unless you want to paint with the Non-Metallic Metal technique you will want a metal paint. Conserving paints and mixing don't really go hand in hand. Just make sure you have all of your models ready before you mix up your paint. You should have two pallets; one regular dry one and one wet pallet. Also make sure to keep adding water to your mix and keep it from drying. Since you are painting Dark Angels here is a good tip for green. Adding red to green will make the green darker. It works better than black. If you can I'd find another airtight container and put a little bit of all of you colors into it and make a brown. You can then use the brown for your Deathwing. Brown shade coat then mix in white to make the muted white of the Deathwing. Last thing. If you are having a hard time finding paints to buy make sure to take care of your brushes. Good Luck.

| The Munkey Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | NP GMR Ill go to michaels/Walmart today and get some color swatches for 3rd co DA for you!! Also I'm in the us always by an Army base (me and wife are on active duty military, me not for long!!) so if you need something PM me!! No biggie as AB paints are about $1 each!! as far as tips and tricks layer layer layer!!! water them down 2:1 or 3:1 and use multiple layering. Also if you invest in a wet pallett it will make your paints last longer. |

Blog Entries: 5 | I can not reccomend this formula enough for bone from apple barrel: Antique White base coat (even over black undercoat, it WILL cover in two coats) 4 or 5:1 ratio of water:brown paint (I used GW's brown ink, but any thinned brown paint will do, just make it a VERY watery mix) Highlight with white on raised edges, etc... Now, for death wing, you may want to skip or even further water down that brown mixture, but that is my tip there!

| Hi Again Well I am about 40 miles from Aberdeen and have access to normal GW paint, but was curious about the Apple Barrel paints from what I've read here. I figured the high pigment and larger size would save me 80 mile trips to and from aberdeen plus I am going to try them in my airbrush (which I am still experimenting with, only got it a month or so ago). ![]() That formula will come in real handy LC Erus as I am rebasing my deathwing and finishing them up I hope soon Thanks ![]() Cheers

Blog Entries: 5 | ![]() The head and parchment give you an idea of hwo the end result CAN look. But, the great thing about this technique is you can go thicker ink (or put more on) and darken it, or do less and lighten it, and it can be used to shade/highlight! Also, the antique white itself may be an off white enough color for oyu for deathwing. IT's a matter of personal taste.

| Hi there, There is a shop that has a GW section, but they suffer from irregular hours and space constrictions. When given half a chance, I make a b-line to Aberdeen as I know they will have everything or I can at least order from there. Cheers
