Default My Imperial Guard Army in the Making!

As a Member of the Reserve Defence Forces ive Decided to make an Imperial Guard Army based on our own Irish Defence Forces,

Everything from the standard issue Weapon (The Styer A.U.G A1), Camo, beret, even going so far as to model characters based on the troops and friends i serve with lol,

First ill make an army based on the 58th Infantry Battalion Support Company Reserve Defence Forces, Then ill create an army based on the P.D.F 28th Infantry battalion HQ Company,

ive only created one 9 person squad so far and painted up snipers as well a Aqula lander for the irish Air Corps in irish Camo & FF cap badge on the Tail, and a forgeworld Earthshaker Emplacement, painting on a bumber sticker soon on the Artilary Gun saying: (should not be used on own troops)

If your in the military you will get the joke! lol unless your Artillary then you will be offended lol.

Here's the Pic's:

I agree with the arty statement. Too many times during a WWII re-enactment can I remember hearing that damned whistle, then be covered in baby powder and left with a garbled, radio made "Sorry! Still finding the range!".

As a fellow Irishman who is stuck in the US, I can say that you do the boys proud m'friend. Good job, and keep 'em coming.

Nice work, I like how you made it personal and all by incorporating real life into it, nice touch. Unlike the rest of us who do far off distance galaxies, how can you relate to a Genestealer honestly lol jk

like the paintjob too, please keep them coming.

Those models look really good man and I love the artillery joke! THis looks like it is going to be a fun army to play and a fun one to play against. Isnt it awesome how varied the imperial guard can be?

Nice to see another Reservist on. Shame you can't give the tank commanders the proper cavalry head-dress....

very nice, it's good to see camo patterns from people instead of the two tone colors we're used to.

I suppose you could do a chimera conversion for the MOWAGs. Don't know how you'd model Cav troopers, as we are the sneaky bastard section of the Irish Army...

Like the conversions and its nice to see a force thats inspired by somthing origional (you should be able to get plenty of little details and "in jokes" into it).

I'd do one based on what I do but it would be a very boring game cause my job involves fixing broken stuff-although I could have a look at your Aquilla Lander when it gets back....!

Perturabo, why not do an Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii army?

I really like your work WarhoundTitan. Is amazing what a difference a little blob of greenstuff can do. Your models seem to gain a whole new sense of character.

Ive been tempted-I subscribe to several Ad Mech Groups but Ive got so many other projects and armies it never happens, maybe if GW/FW ever release the much anticipated/rumoured/denied AM stuff I will....till then its Easy Company for me at the moment.

And yes a bit of green stuff adds so much character and makes the army yours and yours alone!

i actually really like it: it's got the feeling of a diorama, but the effectiveness of a piece of scenery..the bird crap is a nice touch :]

the pictures were a little bit blurry, but still, it looks like pretty good work! :]
