Here are the latest pics of the Vindicator, only primed and slightly drybrushed, but I wanted to share the effect of freezing the model before you prime it. The crackling effect is the result of freezing the model for a few minutes before priming it. Now hopefully I will be able to paint it up to do the effect justice.

I was like OK well its primed.....But then I read the "cracked" part and had to look! that is seriously the coolest effect I have seen!!!

I cant tell you how much I am enjoying this thread. In my opinion, this has to be one of the best visions of a Death Guard army I have see in a while.

The little tricks and tip you have shown here are genius.

wow those are amazing I love how youve gone with the theme of rotting bodies for nurgle really cool. Also love the marines climbing out of the rhino.

Hey guys, sorry it has been a while since my last post on this thread, but I have been pre-occupied. Here is the progression on the Plague zombie marine Vindicator.

a photo of base coat

this has been washed with a mix

this has been picked and highlighted.

The model is now about 70% finished. I will take some close-ups as I continue to work on this model.

I really want to say thanks to all of you that are watching this thread, you all keep me motivated with your positive re-enforcement, I am glad you all like it.

The slime dripping cannon...Golden

On the half skeleton marine (An Idea I love oh so much) I think you should burn at the hip armor of him so that it gives the effect of rot continuing down his leg...Just to make it look more organic and awesome!

I recommend Prince of the Night's title be changed to "Master of Heat" instead of corporal.
Melting and Freezing...Gosh.

I am planning on putting together a tut on the heat pen this coming week, as I need to get a SM biker and put it together for a painting comp @ my local store. While I put him together I will document the progress and post it as a tut.
