Salamander Space Marines - 40K Terra

Well, as promised, I'm uploading pictures of my armies, gonna be a bit spammy and post 2 threads, one for each army, and here's my Salamanders, so far I only have one of the Chapter masters done, who I'll be taking as standard joe commander.

Note, you will have to forgive my photo skills, its not one I currently have

shame I can't think of any use for those models... I would love to use 'em.

well they dont use much fast attack and they would seem to be pretty ornate/high tech due to Vulcan's affinity for smithing. ohh and they are green, Thats really all I know.

Well, the way I've been painting them is as thus, Black Undercoat, followed by two thin coats of Snot green, a wash with watered down black ink, followed by highlights of goblin green, the black parts of the Armour was chaos black, with highlights of an equal mix of codex gray and chaos black. and all the gold was done in brazen brass, with a wash of watered down chestnut ink, a heavy highlight of shining gold and a very fine highlight of mithril silver.

As for Salamanders, they have an abundance of Termie armour and Artificer armour, they also tend to have master crafted weapons, and their weapons of choice would be the Thunderhammer, flamer and melta weapons. and as the good baron said, A real lack of fast attack choises.

I really, really, really like this paint scheme on the sallies. I like your faces too, fairly realistic, but not so much so they detract from the rest of the mini.

Salamanders - Lexicanum

There may be some of the same stuff in both links but there are definately differences.
Oh and FYI they dont have an abundance of terminators they have just a little bit more coz there careful, if any chapter has more it would be the Iron Hands due to their close relationship with the Mechanicus.

I have plans for 2 5 man assault squads in drop pods, its going to make me a very poor man

In fact Iron Hands have few terminators due to the Istvaan III Dropsite massacres. The only thing about the remaining terminators is that they can be sergeants. but otherwise correct.

True. 85% of the first company was in the assault. 79% of those were casualties. All Morlocks (terminators) were reported dead, or died from wounds sustained, or were rendered ineffective in combat. (these percentages are my rough figurings from various bits of fluff)

Actually you'd think that after they have finally rebuilt themselves afterwards they would be given more Terminator suits through Terra and the Mechanicus but either way.
