Scratch built.....? - 40K Terra

Yo to you all.

so i got a bit of a problem. i want to scratch build something for my guard army, but i don't know what to choose. if i've done this right, and it will be a miracle if i have, there should be a poll at the top somewhere. please vote on it and in a few weeks, maybe i'll try to build the winner

ha he cant build a leviathan or a warhound from scratch, ull need like 100000 packs of green stuff =)

build a plaguereaper super heavy
no w8, build a tau manta, they £900 ech 32inch span

Go to a large/good/well stocked model store.
Have a really good browse.
Grab something (preferably something big) that takes your fancy.
40k-ify it up.
Vola!
One custom whatever that just needs some VDR applied to it.

oooh...that's ugly! if i go for the leviathan i'll have to redesign it a bit! i'm sure i can come up with something a bit sexier and just as deadly looking. maybe something along the lines of the old squat cyclops.

or something like this chassis with the hellbore replaced with a chuffing great cannon!

please for the love of god dont make a titan! its a walking cliche!

i vote flier... a well make vulture/valkyre would look really sexy and would be more unique than all the cereal packet titans we see these days (not that i expect a titan you make to look bad in any way)

either that or a completely new Leman Russ design - keep the track sectionsa nd make a new hull from plasticard. its something ive been wanting to make for a long time myself

but, as we all know, the D_C is lazy

Any super heavy that grabs your eye. Why? Because they're the Guard! They don't normally use Titans. If not a super heavy, go with a flier or two.

They're more likely to have a titan fielded alongside them than an SM force. The Ad Mech and SM don't get along.

Well, someone on Warseer is making a lovely Leviathan at the moment. Here's the most recent update:

However, what about doing something completely different to the existing models? There are some great alternate Imperial flyer designs that have been contributed to the Anargo Sector Project as CAD templates.

The Skywarp, Skybolt and Skyblade are my favourites, but if you browse through the whole thread, you'll find loads of possible ideas.

Remember, if you use any of these, you should contact the artist first to ask his permission to replicate them IRL. I'm sure he'll say "yes".

the leviathan has been playing on my mind quite a bit lately but if i do it i'll have to redesign it a bit. the boxy thing in the pics found so far is hella ugly! my leviathan is gonna be sleek and sexy

nothing imperial is sleek and sexy. specaly the bigger stuff. just look at the gothic fleet lol. i think fighters would be the most usefull thing hairy. and atleast a bit sleeker

True on the fighters but think of the firepower of the leviathan in terms of game damage...oh the agony...oh the pain....oh the fun of using the new APOC pie template...

Me I went for a total VDR work up of a completey scratch built project...Forge breaker is a super heavy transport assault vehicle...larger than a LR and much tougher to crack with it's 3 structure points and void shields...hehehe...not to mention the array of slaughter house weapons scattered over it's hull...

and the C&C point that allows for truelly special battlefield operational flexibility
