Please Help:
So since i have started doing Truescale Marines i feel more confidentin starting this project. I wanna make the Sarpedon model and i need some help from my Fellow terrans. So any info you have on him Please speak up. Anything will help. Thanks!!

I really like the spider leg look, i have only read 2 of the books but maybe without giving it away you could describe the 3 looks. I know the first 2 but having it down would be helpfull as my memory might be off a little.

the third look is him at a diagonal angle, looking "north west" towards an object, holding the soul spear foward like he is striking with one hand (the soul spear is activated - two vortex blades, one on each end) and with his spider legs pointing towards the base or "south east"

my idea would be full GS sculpt of the legs, filling up the indentation for the regular legs in his mk VII armor with greanstuff and making spider legs coming out.

does he change again after his mutation ? i have the omnibus and read it last year, lol but my memory is so bad sometimes XD.

either way, try looking at like toy shops, for those little rubber/plastic spider toys ? like action figures, but less....figurey ? lol. you'll probably also have to beef up a torso, or convert a termie torso so it doesn't look miniscule compared to the tons of legs.

wait, did you get to the part with the bionic yet, bw ? :]

I already have the perfect pair of spider legs for the job, there from a old model i got about 12 years ago, i will get a pic here soon to show ya. They come out of his waist area right and how many does he have?
Hes gonna be Truescale size so that should help a little with the whole legs bit.

Well i promised pics of the spider legs i am gonna use so heres what they look like. This is the model they came from i used to have 3 of these they were used with my fantasy Dark elves back in the day.

Me thinks you should get the green stuff out and make the arachnids legs more "spikey" near the joints, i do recall many stabbings via sarpedons sharp ass legs!

Sarpedon had a staff before the soul spear, then during the last book, he put the spear down and used a force axe which he acquired by killing that Vanquallian Hawk Librarian

His legs were "chitonous" not super hairy, a slick wet look if you will, black/brown hue in color

a head of dark hair on his head, short hair

he was in regular power armor (he was a non-termi librarian)

8 legs (1 was broken off and turned bionic at the most distal join aka joint farest away from the body on one of the fore legs)

ill try to remember some more, its easier to remember when you give specific questions, at least for me anyways =)

i thought the bionic leg was towards the front as he was stabbing with that one and another a lot during the books.

fore-leg meaning one of the legs towards the front of his body, might have just misunderstood my typing or i may have presented it wrongly but you are right and that is actually what i said as well, potayto-potahto

they arent actually spider legs, he just has 8 insectoid legs. been a while since i read the books but i believe chitinous is the adjective used to describe them. seeing as i also read the ultramarine book with the nids chitinous also springs to mind in regards to their carapace....i always imagined the new librarian with force staff upper torso with a bolter instead of the book and the legs being made of either fex or warrior scything talons seeing as they are supposed to come down to sharp points. just my thoughts....

I was thinking the same but the reason whi i went with the spider legs is i went back and reread the part when they appeard and a couple other areas and they refrenced them as spider legs but chittinious in design, they are big enough to lift him of the ground so his feet dont touch but yet still thin in design. The legs i showed are gonna be changed some they wont be exactly like the pic.
