Default space marine cold one rider

couple things here.
has anyone ever seen the picture of the salander space marine riding a cold one? i know ive seen it in a white dwarf somewere but i cant remember. i cant find it on the internet either. so if someone who knows what im talking about find it and scan it and post a pic, that would be much appreciated. ill be looking through the WD i have.

the reason is that a friend is starting out with salamanders and wanted me to make him some of those. i have cold ones and plenty of chaos marine bikers. its not a problem to make loyalist marines cause i can just file off the chaos icons.
the problems is, the marine biker legs are too close together.
how could i bend them so they could fit around the fatty cold ones?
i was thinking to bend them or file down the cold one sides and bend them just a little (cause its about a quarter inch that they need to go.)

another question, and this is why i need the pic to see how this guy did it. how could i mount the bolters? i was thinking something like a tank commanders arms and the pintle mounted storm bolter. that would look cool.

help meh out?

Are you thinking something like this?

ok i found it looking through all of my old WD.

i figure, basing on that, ill cut the legs at the hip joint and fill in gaps with green stuff. a green stuff saddle like thing might also be good. ill have to get a combat squad box for the extra arms and bolters, cause they need twin linked bolters...

btw im doin 5 of these guys for $60. it shall be fun. thx for your help guys more green stuff experiance though....

Anything we can do to help. Be sure to post W.I.P. for us! Also, something I have found that helps in this situation is to write out the conversion step by step. Just me though. YOu could possibly use the Chaos combi-bolters for the twin linked bolters.. They already have a mount pole, and a nifty looking little bayonet!

ok, so i made 2 test models, but im not happy the way they turned out. my camera is also not, for some reason, auto-focusing correctly (i need a better camera >.<)
so tonight im going to work on them. this is my first real experiance with large scale green stuff modeling. its tricky.
these are for a normal space marine chapter though, so i would have to file down most of the chaos icons on the bits im using. the guy im making these for will be the one painting them. hes a much better painter. so now im off to work on these dudes...

ok so here are the first pics of the project. i showed em to my friend and he said they were good, and gave me the go-ahead to make the rest like these.

however, i would still like and appreciate any tips or feedback you guys have for me.

the green stuff layer on the back and front of the rider, and the part the guns are attached to, is going to be the leather saddle. i had tried out stirrups, reigns, and other things like that but disided against them.

i also want the seargant to have a horse-hair plume, and would like some tips on how to do this

remember-first major sculpting with green stuff, no sculpting tool (until saturday =D)

Nicely done. The glare on the model makes some details hard to pick out, but overall it is very well done! The horse-hair plume works great if you use a fanciful marine helmet and glue an ork plume to it. I'll post up the conversions from GW where I saw this idea sometime tonight or tomorrow,.

erus did you really have to quote all of my ginourmas pictures as well =D?
yesterday, after i posted, i made another one and a half of these. the whole one was good, but i couldnt finish the half cause i dont have anymore things to attach the bolters to. however, saturday im gettin a LRC and an immolator and can snag some pintle storm bolters from those.
