| looking good mate ![]() if trying to green stuff a cloak seems a bit daunting (and let's face it, it is!) why not take a look around and see if you have any spare tabberds or such laying around? (or else bug your buddies and see iy the have any promising bitz!!!) a hint for the green stuff though - always mix up a little more blue than yellow. this stops it from becoming super sticky and un-workable even when wet! keep up the good work and post some more photos once it done eh! cheers!

| Looks awesome. Is he a little bit heavy with his warscythe (I assume) extended out like that? How did you get him weighted down? I use 5cent pieces and glue them to the bottom of the base but if you have a better idea (since 5c pieces don't work well with slottabases) I'd like to hear it!

might help counter balance a bit depending on how much it sticks out at the back?! otherwise, hopefully you have some tabs from pewter sprues that you can cut up and glue under the base! cheers!

| Trooper ![]() | i havnt put anything under to keep it balanced :P thats been pretty cool so far :P the green rod will go on after i finish painting it, and i cant wait to get started. ive tried to make a cape before, i put one on my destroyer on foot (lol more spare parts) it came out ok for a first try. heres one had made earlier lol... oh this model was already painted before i put the cape on, and i was too lazy to do a good job at painting the cape... ill get rid of those green spots when i get a chance ![]() ![]() ![]()

| that's not bad for a 1st try at sculpting cloth... honestly, i have to try my hand it either, so i'm very leery about the prospect of having to try it for my new inquisitor model... (i'll be taking a few lessons from a mate who's a multiple demon winner )i think the main thing to work on is to flaten out the huge bulge on his back... the cape should ideally lay fairly flat across the shoulders of a model. btw, do you use that model as an immortal or as another lord? i also wanted to point out that i really like the blades on the back of your lord conversion nice touch that!keep up the good work, cheers!

| The Omnissiah ![]() ![]() | I find the best way for capes is to make a square sheet of greenstuff thats quite thin (Not to thin else you will never pick it of the worksurface in one piece). Then squash the top corners slightly together, so the cape folds a bit. Then put it on the model wherever its suposed to go, and add some more folds to the cape, but make it look natural. And finally, curve up the botom of the cape a bit, making it look like there is a breaze blowing it a bit. Thats what works for me anyways!

![]() i've found a good way to stop the putty from sticking to your work surface is to lay down a little bit plastic wrap... (the kind you use for wraping your nightly left-overs!) works a treat! also, mix-up a little more blue than yellow as that will also help to keep the putty from sticking to your scuplting tool! cheers!

| Trooper ![]() | hey thanks for the tips :P :P yeah i think ill be using it as a immortal for now (an immortal lord would be pretty cool tho) i think the blades rock :P they kinda look like little evil wings of doom :P i dont know if it would have looked better with a warscythe instead of the staff of light, but i didnt have a spare warscythe on me to see what it would have looked like but im happy with what i got :P ill start painting on sun when i have some spare time :P

| hmmmm... well, if you *really* want the warscythe, then tomb king swords are the bit you're looking for to convert one! (hopefully you have a friend you can go bum one off of )just snip the top off the staff of light and replace it the blade portion only (ie; remove the hilt!) of a plastic TK sword! you can still leave the green rod at the bottom as not all necron tech has to look 100% identicle (hey, this isn't the imperium with their stc's!)you might need just a wee bit of green stuff depening on the join - though if you want to avoid any pinning, just add a tiny amount of green stuff to the join and glue it with super glue!!! honestly, you litterly need some explosive to undo a green stuff - super glue join while a warsycthe makes the lord a deadly fighter, you do lose your ranged attack... so there is some better tactical flexability in the staff. cheers!

| hehehe... we are always our own harshest critics! the staff is quite cool mate! overall it's a great looking lord. (and the creativity is worth a bit of rep!)the only thing i can suggest is to add another contrasting colour to break up the large amounts of metal... (i can see the gold shoulders, but a 2nd darker colours could really set the model off!) keep up the good work! cheers!

| Wow! Well I must say that I can paint lightning fairly well, but the wires are something else! You could simply get some black ink, or use watered-down chaos black in the cracks of the model. Or if you want a sort of dirty, not-quite-rust-but-still-ancient-looking effect, you could use flesh wash. It looks really good on gold to make it tarnished.
