Got some big news for you guys watching this blog, I went to my hobby shop today and picked up a whole bunch of goodies.

I picked up a 1/35 'Hornisse' SP Artillery Piece which will be the 501st's Basilisk proxy. I also found some 1/48 Scale German Panzergrenadiers which are almost the right size for 40k. The figures are just a shade on the small side but all the accessories and weapons are perfect sized for Imperial Guard. And they only cost me 15$.

Ok enough talk, heres some pics to show you what I've got to work on,

WOW only 15$ for all that ?!?! sweetness ! very nice find my friend. yea looking at the sprues they definitely are a little on the skimpy side, but it looks like the accessories indeed will work for 40k :]

wait are tamiya tanks always that inexpensive ? maybe i should pick up a few for my IG too...:]

BvL, for the tanks do you buy 1/48 as well ? or do you get the 1/35 s ? i'm now seriously thinking abotu getting some :]

Sorry if I wasnt clear... the Grenadiers cost me 15$ the other two were 40$ a piece...

And as far as scale, it really depends on the model. I think its about high time I put up a tutorial on kitbashing and scale since I ssem to be the resident expert on that. look for that in the next couple of days for some advice.

They are from the Tamiya 1/48 German Panzergrenadier set. Check it out online but I'm pretty pleased with the 15$ dollar invesment on all that gear.

God damnit Baron, that is the most impressive army I have ever seen. No questions about it. I'm loving Gustav and your Field Marshall knocked me flat. I can't wait to see more of these in the future and I am sorry if this is considered Thread Necro by anyone :P.

Haha thanks guys, ya I've been kind of lax recently on updating this stuff, but real life is hammering me like no toher right now and I just dont have the tiem like I did. Summers are kinda busy for me but once it slows down a bit I've got some big plans coming. I'll put up some pics as soon as I can.

Hmm, nothing new completed yet but the next picture update will be big. I have the Hornisse, A Command Chimera, Stormsword, and some LR conversions on the way. I might be able to get a few up of the completed HQ when I get them done.

Gunnar! It's good to hear from you again mate! Yes I've gotten my IA 6 and I love it, unfortunately I havent pickedup the IA masterclass yet but I will be getting it soon. Shoot me an email or PM or find some way to talk to me about the Krieg codex and that tutorial and thanks for the help on it. It's been moving a little slowly but I hope to pick it up again once life settles down a bit for me.

I do have my Stormsword built though for a really small no picture update.
