City Fight board / terrain WIP thing - 40K Terra

Ok folks

After a long absence and minor posting on the site, little modelling / painting action and next to no scenery building (Except for the large castle I call home), I have decided to post pics to follow the story of how my city fight board came into existence.

This is Work In Progress. It will come in dribs and drabs (too many real life things to organise and prioritse) but I plan for you all to come on my roller coaster ride of cutting, glueing, fume inhalation, styrene melting, posing, grinding and texturing.

Here are a few pics to get you started:

The Sanctum Imperialis... More done to it since, so need to get a piccy of the back

And the Basilica administratum... This bad boy is huge... I need at least another two kits to complete it!

And with FW vinnie for scale

More will come this week.

... you shall eceive partial credit, but seeing as i had to construt the most god danged difficult balcony... I claim majority.

Muchos Grandos sir.

These are just two.

There is a factory, a whole range of ruined stuff from polysytrene and some plain looking administratum buildings to date.

I'll start adding more and mre as I go, the initial target is to get enough for myself, Mart007 and Drax to be able to rumble on an 8x4 with a dense terrain set up.

I totally feel the pain on assembeling those things. I was in charge of constructing two fo the huge city scapes when they first came out a few years ago. I think it took a good month to get all the access glue out from under my finger nails. I had an assorted number of people attempt to help me, but after ataching just a wall or two they were like F$%# this and they left me to do my dirty work.

The buildings hold strong though I just visited my old stomping grounds and played in a tournament and it warmed my heart to see all my hard work still in use.

They are a pain in the royal ass.

Though the pain is worth t in the end... I am annoyed that I went the size I have with the basilica... It's now going to be constructed of roughly 5 - 6 basilica kits

If you want to come North and actually get a game, then I think it's me you need to be seeing. Krom and Mart spend a lot of time posing with their sexy new purchases and talking up their gaming prowess, but some of us are actually turning up to a club once a week and rolling some dice!
