Comp entry, and alittle taster of whats to come..... - 40K Terra

Okay, having been away for a while over the holidays. (Have'nt had much time, or will power to anything but read the latest gaunts ghosts novel, and brothers of the snake.) i come back and find the brand new site, and the fact that ive missed some things, but things, have stayed realitively the same...if that makes any sense. >> << ><

anyway, enough of my ranting.
models!
before i left i promised some picks of my current WIP. and since i havent done anything...they're still WIP. yes yes i know, im a lazy git. but......i happen to like being a lazy bone idle git. ^^
anyway, on with the show!

something old.
simply because, im still relatively new here at 40Kterra, and wel...i havent posted any pics before of anything...so. heres what i can do so far, and its all come leaps and bounds in the last 6 months, ive finaly started doing something other than flat colours. took me long enough, almost 8-9 years of just doing flat colours, does get alittle boreing anyway, first up: warhammer, Empire warrior priest 'M.C. Hammer'

Little story behind him, i bought him because of WAR: Mark of Chaos, and the warrior priest in the intro vid. the second i saw the new modle, i thought it was awesome, and then after seeing a few games of warhammer quest and seeing the rules for the warrior priest in the game, i thought id paint one up and give it a go, the warhammer quest game never happened, and with a friend to help me do the face (By Help i mean he did the entrire face) the model turned out nice.

after that came two models in quick sucession,
auienur sword of twighlight i did for a painting comp at my local GW:

And a vostroyan sniper i picked up for £2 off a kid at my Locla GW, simply because, its a cool model, id finished aunier, and i wanted to play around with the Red technique that id used on Auinier.

and now im currently painting a sister of battle cannoness for the Leicester GW's 'Cool' Cabinet. i am determined to get something in there! im planing to use her in a diorama, shes going to be ventilateing a pair of unfortunate Tau. anyway, here she is, ill update when i get her finsihed:

and now to the Reason for this thread.
now, nothing has been done to it, and the extra's, the head, the hammer the pack, and alittle something i ahd in mind for it. have all gone Awol...so. this is all ive got. im digging them out....just as soon as ive finished this assination on assassins creed. its driveing me up the wall! i decided to do it on the hardest setting....well, i wont bore you with the details but, its DAMN HARD! DAMN! DAMN HARD!

anyway, alittle more details on this guy, hes going to be an imperial fists Captain, with an Iron Halo, thunder hammer, bolt pistol, terminator honours, and a i havent quite got a name for him just yet. anyway, this is my canvas, and i hope to start painting some time soon.........
anyway, thats about everything ive done in the last 6 months, save the first spatters of a human blood bowl team, with pink sashes etc.....dont go there. i fancied doing something serious, but add alittle humour to it.
anyway, back to painting....

Just as soon as ive stabbed this damn french guy with the pointy end of a very sharp metal stick......*Grumble*

okay after getting up earlyier this morning (and Repeatedly stabbing Robert De Sable with something sharp on assassins creed) and fishing out my bits box, i have been able to get a blu tacked version of my comp entry, i wont be glueing him togther, well, ill be glueing the head on. the hammer arm and the backpack, i wont be glueing on, because i want to paint them seperatly, as when there attached to the model, i can allready see places where im not going to be able to paint very well. so im going to leave him unbuilt, and then paint him up at the start of the comp.

on anouther note, because of all this i am VERY tempted to put some old plans into action and start work on a Imperial fists army.....

Okay, as promised (its a day late, but whos counting.)
heres some pics of what he looks like complete, hammer and all. also, in the BKGRND is the aurealius figure, which is the Vet Sgt for my CMD sqd, that ive got in the works, ill be painting him as well, after all, its better to have two models going at once, so while ones drying your not sat on your ass doing anothing, so ill be painting him at the smae time, and with any luck. to the same standard. anyway, on with the Pics:

You'd get big rep from me if you did some Imperial Fists. What models are you using for that captain? it looks really cool and might be something I might mirrior you with as I might do a small add on Imperial Fists Squad for Apocalypse.

the Captain is actually the Master of fleet from the chapter masters boxed set, me and 3 other guys each chipped in a £5 at gamesday in sept, and hes been knocking around my desk ever since, and i thought he'd make an awesome commander. that and ive tweaked him alittle, a new head, and the Halo from the Librian Termie with the scrolls removed. but other than that he's stock, and im going to be painting auralieus First, not for the comp, but to practise the painting technique, its really simple, but Easy to screw up. and ive seen the effects of it on the New~ish high elf dragon model, painted in the same technique, and it looks damn cool.

ah, the head. something i forgot to put in that last post. its from the new dark angel company master blister, i got it from a friend, and just like the Fleet master, its been knocking around my desk ever since.
and the Reason i used it over the stock head. the stock head is okay, but i think this one somehow just looks....cooler. that and i need to add some orignalility to this model, to make it stand out from ever one else's. im a serious fan of trying to get every marine diffrent, every marine thier own Persona.
